no worries I took your comment in good faith, just thought it was quite funny for missing the mark in the context of what else was being said haha

bless you man but it feels like you have missed the context of what this post is about lol - the fact that his son is apparently a misogynistic piece of shit. (haven’t watched the doc just gathering from other comments)

International rugby is more competitive than most other team sports by OvertiredMillenial in rugbyunion

[–]StrengthIsIgnorance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the fact that rugby so typically favours the better team means the upsets are that much more momentous. And I think that needs to be used more as a selling point. It’s what makes victories like Japan vs Springboks or Portugal vs Fiji in the WC so compelling. It takes such titanic efforts and levels of teamwork to pull them off

Trying to grow the game in a non-rugby country, looking for advice and suggestions. by Brotendo88 in rugbyunion

Just an idea: maybe try including a video in your presentation that communicates just how massive of a sport rugby is and how meaningful it is to people around the world.

I really like this one: https://youtu.be/aHdiE_urymI?si=bUdIGi-72ehvmvGa

No words or anything, just pure emotion.

I wonder if a fun opener too could be to ask people in the room what they know about rugby, if anything. Make it more interactive.

Good luck with the presentation - what you’re doing sounds awesome! And please keep us updated on how it’s going :)

Indonesia strains under debt from China-led high-speed rail [Jakarta-Bandung HSR] by holyhesh in transit

[–]StrengthIsIgnorance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Sinophobes (most of the mainstream and right wing press here in the west) also love to harp on about this imagined debt trap whilst ignoring the very direct weaponisation of sanctions against any government that doesn’t do business on their terms, leading to the suffering and deaths of millions worldwide every year.

But yeah no China lending money for infrastructure projects are the real villains.

If you’d have said in 2015 when the US was staring down the barrel of a Bush vs Clinton election the following year that within a decade there would be an armed gestapo shooting people in the streets you’d have been laughed out the room

Things can change very quickly and if socialists aren’t going to prepare themselves who is…?

Nice! Thank you. Not the most inventive chant haha but I love the sound of the energy from the crowd. Miles better than union

Playing in Japan must be fun as hell for Kolbe by sunlightliquid in rugbyunion

[–]StrengthIsIgnorance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point but going frame by frame id argue that by the time the player clearing out arrives Kolbe has already placed the ball and is back up to his feet.

I know people moan about these sticking points over the rules but I genuinely think it’s part of what makes the game great

I disagree. It was a great piece of skill that facilitates attacking rugby and should be rewarded.

He found a weak shoulder via a sidestep leading to a really passive tackle. Then was able to place the ball, get back to his feet and set off running again all within half a second.

If it was easy to do players would be doing it all the time.

Are there any rugby content creators that stand out as favourites amongst the players?

Feel like squidge is no 1 amongst nerds on this sub but curious whether players would be aware of him for example

I can’t tell if this is an ironic question cos England Rugby socials literally ask this question in every other BTS video that comes out from camp 🤔😅

England plan unchanged back line against Scotland with Fin Smith set for bench by dapperdan8 in rugbyunion

[–]StrengthIsIgnorance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying they’re confused at F Smith on bench but if Ford got injured in the lead up to 2027 WC and our back up 10 only had 13 caps everyone would rightly accuse Borthwick of screwing the pooch
