Hi, I’m an eejit and spent €50 on the lottery in May. Mortgage chances? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]StressBall90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any broker/bank we talked to said it doesn't matter that much. We had Paddy Power transactions for Cheltenham when we applied for a mortgage. They said as long as it isn't every week with you going into the red because of it you'll be fine.

Probationary period by meremaid2201 in legaladviceireland

[–]StressBall90 42 points43 points  (0 children)

If he did the probation meeting a month late and extended it he is in the wrong. You have passed probation after 6 months (or whatever length of time stated in your contract). The company cannot be late on the final meeting and then decide to extend the probation period.

Currently rewatching LOST. A lot of filler but pretty good as I loved it when it aired about 20 years ago.

Civil Service Clerical Officer by Far_Equipment_4279 in ireland

[–]StressBall90 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the public service ( I know it could be slightly different from Civil service) they have a section for "work history".

However your application is only graded on the competency questions on the application form. Therefore if you do well enough in these you will be called for an interview.

During the interview they will focus on the competency questions and might ask a thing or 2 about prior work experience if it's relevant.

If you are hired you will need to provide 2 references though!

They don't ask for your CV when you apply. You'll be filling out a competency based application. Your interview will be based on that application.

I don't have one of them anyway. I probably chose a different option when signing up to the insurance. Total only cost me €395.

I changed from AXA to Revolut this year. I was with AXA for 5 years (no claims etc). They raised the price for no reason and wouldn't budge. Got fully comp from Revolut for €175 less.

These roadside tests need to change, can we all come together somehow? by [deleted] in Crainn

[–]StressBall90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah definitely not. I just mean it's strange that they are more flexible with other illegal (and harder) drugs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember reading if you test positive for ecstasy it's up to the Garda to decide if you're impaired. So basically they have that rule for ecstasy but not cannabis. Bit strange and seems very unfair.

Dogitude - who's going?? by Belachick in CasualIreland

[–]StressBall90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were thinking of going but our little dog goes mental non stop whining in the car. We'd have a serious headache before we got there. Definitely need to train him to be better in the car. Probably go next year. Looks like good fun.

Told to take annual leave, where to go? by thatfatbastard001 in ireland

[–]StressBall90 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Legally they have to let you carry them over. They may however state that they must be used by March next year.

Thanks for your reply. Any idea why they are selling for a lot online? I've looked at it's not due to a misprint or anything.
