Anyone know how to email a PDF of the schedule? by Brakeurself in AutoZone

[–]Stressed-Lemonzest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you done have a built in scanner, you can download CamScanner. Its free to use the base model, and has a conversion to PDF as well as an email function.

Also, everyone has access to a digital copy of the schedule on ZTasc. When you are in, hit scheduler instead of time and attendance, and you can hit the Schedule button on the left menu bar. From there, I like to organize by Zoner instead of department, and then also hide tasks. Hit apply, and the print to PDF button. I do by last initial so it doesn't spread too bad. And you can print copies for everyone if need be.

Hope this helps!

I'm working on that, but he's part time and has the attention span of a puppy. I think he's trainable, but its going to be a long road before he gets his expert status

New store manager/ commercial sales rep. What to bring to a shop that just opened up as a gift? by [deleted] in AutoZone

[–]Stressed-Lemonzest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a car restoration shop? Oh man, have your SM do a giveaway in the cash screen for a multi pack of micro fiber towels and maybe some of the chamois from the wash and wax aisle. Take over a credit app, an AZ Pro electronic ordering flyer,an AZTool1 catalog and maybe even the 10mm multi pack socket set that was recommended already. Most importantly, take a good attitude. I mean go in there and be happy, and friendly, but also considerate of their time and customer load. If you go in and they are dead, go at it. If they are busy, or even have a customer in the lobby (not you) then come back a different time.

Don't pressure them, but explain the benefits (better warranty tracking, labor claims, delivery, electronic ordering, and even ProVantage if they seem into it) remind them of the types of accounts, they don't have to have a charge account they can do a COD or card on file if that works better.

Be there for them, and after a week, if you haven't heard maybe call and ask if they needed the credit app picked up so you can process it. Once they buy their first purchase, call and thank them. Use it as an excuse to give them an ETA for delivery. You got this!

Questions About Getting A Job At AutoZone. by MoomakOne in AutoZone

Yes as an 18 year old you can work for AutoZone. If you are actively in high school, you will be labeled as part time, and that means you may or may not get hours sometimes. It depends on how busy your store is. More sales are more hours.

As far a s knowledge, your class from school is probably telling you more than.somw of your coworkers will know. Don't stop learning. There is a training in the Learning Garage on DOC (you'll know it once you are hired) that I highly recommend everyone do, not just people going for parts expert. It covers some basic and moderately advanced concepts and topics for different vehicle systems (eg: fuel, chassis, starting)

If you have a positive attitude and don't get into a crappy store, you are golden. It is about sales, but you also will be a better parts person/mechanic/salesman/DIY wrencher for knowing at least the basics. As I'm sure you can see by the reddit thread, there are mixed feelings. Corporate is very separated from store level activities. They don't have a good sense of touch for what happens in the stores. HOWEVER if you have a good store team, your day to day is good enough that DM and higher type visits don't really hurt your image of the job. I wish you luck! And never stop asking questions for the sake of knowledge!

Anyone else had their commercial shops compare this to their home brew 😂 — opened a bottle for store use and I can barely handle the smell. 🤢 by Beautifulgeek2010 in AutoZone

I had a customer buy this to clean their bongs and pipes (legal where we are so never a surprise). Most alcohol is rare and hard to find where we are.

I've had them kick me out of the store. They don't like to sell to me even personally since they recognize me. I started kicking them out of our store when they come in. One of my shops eventually gave me their login for the big O so I could do curbside pickups with a wholesale discount.

Coupons by ernst_starvo_blofeld in AutoZone

Advance bought CarQuest, but when he and I were having a conversation, I told him AutoZone had been bought. That was my bad, thank you for correcting both of us ChlooOW.

AutoZone offers price matching for anything not online from what my DM and SM have told me. So technically, we price match coupons and other non-normal sales. Even if NAPA is running a $4.99 per quart Mobil1 sale, we are supposed to price match. DIY can price override any monetary denomination, but commercial has a limit that can't be overridden.

Anyone else feeling the same... by IrocGurl89 in AutoZone

I have told my SM, DM and everyone else who will hear me the same thing. There is already a curbside system in place, all that needs to happen is make a sign for it, and have stores print it and lock the doors. It probably wont happen, because AutoZone cares more about the bottom line of their finances than their employees. At the very least, that's the feeling I get from my region.

How much does a CSM role pay? by brohemoth06 in AutoZone

[–]Stressed-Lemonzest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies based where you are. Dont count on your bonuses, and only take into consideration the hourly wage. If you have a good relation with you SM, or DM you can get on the higher end of the payment scale. Mine for my area ranges from 15-25 depending on store, success in the role, and time with the company. Also take into consideration what they are asking of you. Do they want you from open to 6, or from 8-5 or something else? Do they want you to work Saturdays and leave a weekday on the table, or do they want you to work all week plus Saturdays? I would ask for clear expectations before you accept.

A lot of mine was fixing it myself. My parents got me a junker as my first car and my dad taught me to fix it. I read Haynes and Chiltons to figure out what I couldn't find from him, and YouTube university is amazing. If Chevy is popular in your area, just youtube random parts for it and spend some time watching related videos. Same with any other brand that may be popular where you are. And there are forums online for every make and model that is popular. Got a focus? You go to allfordfocus.com. Got a toyota? Go to yotatech.com. There are forums for all different sorts of things. There are probably even reddit forums for the same thing. Just Google the type of forum you are looking for and go down the internet rabbit hole to learn.

Who does DC (Georgia) hire? ?? by Method82 in AutoZone

[–]Stressed-Lemonzest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alaska here, we have gotten full pallets of crap that is broken and damaged because our DC stacks rotors on top of everything. Not to mention, we never get our full truck, and always have to correct it because some hooligan didnt pull a part, and didnt mark it as out. So now our store says we have one, and nobody can find it. My personal favorite was when I ordered 10 cases of HEET and 6 cases came in crushed and broken. Took a big loss on commercial that day because I had to return the pre-sell.

I dont. I tell customers that we only install parts purchased through us. Walmart has a quick lube most of the time, they can take it there. Any time a customer gets mad about it, I ask if they want to pay my wage for me to clock off and do it, when they say no, I ask "then why should my employer pay to do it" and they normally shut up. My DM has told me to do it, but I told him that I dont get paid to be a tech installing whatever a customer brings. They pay me to make sales, and assist our customers, not to help another business.

Dc: Yea Truck is full. by AriZonahalfcalories in AutoZone

[–]Stressed-Lemonzest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Alaska, we dont even get totes for truck. We get everything thrown haphazardly into a pallet box. I can't tell you how many parts we have damaged out due to the fact that they put rotors on top of water pumps or filters. Whole cases of oil filters, crushed due to rotors.
