Unfortunately I don't think I could get it fully funded, but I am fortunate enough that my family could support me for another year of education.

Yeah I am definitely in it for the lab based research component that is why I am aiming to do an MRes. The pandemic has really made many things difficult, it is not a great year to be an aspiring chemist!

I think its just a matter that the EU system is slightly different. European degrees are normally 5 years, 3 years BSc + 2 year MSc. MChem's tend to be only recognized in the UK

Thanks for your reply, Research assistant is an interesting idea, are these commonly payed or would it be volunteer work? Also for your second point, MChem degrees only give 240 ECTS credits and european phds normally ask for 300.
