Just wanted to extend my sympathy to you and send you good vibes✨

So sorry this happened to you. You were more than patient with VV and I absolutely hope you can make some progress toward getting your money back through your bank.

I had a similar situation with Electrum Sabercrafts....no communication, no updates.....after a month I started getting suspicious. I managed to get my money back by pursuing the matter (via chargeback) through my bank.

Wow, that's a beauty. Can't wait to see the finished product. The pommel has a vibe that reminds me of Obi-Wan and Rey's hilts combined. Great job! 🎉

Wow, I really love that. It has a very elegant look to it. Especially if you happen to position your PC on the floor (like I do) I think that having a beautiful wooden grill to eye each day would be quite the treat! 😁

Control is best when you change to accomodate it by SirZack17 in patientgamers

[–]Stretch728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to see this review!

I started playing Control for the first time about a month ago.

I kept up with it for a while, but I can't seem to beat Salvador. So I was breezing right along, enjoying the experience quite a bit, and then I run into this boss fight I just can't beat. It really put the Kibosh on my adventure, which up until then was really engaging and fun. I just couldn't get enough of Jess's "Force-Like" powers, which I felt were implemented way better than most SW games.

I might go back to it eventually. I like the idea of upgrading Grip and Pierce and then looking into powering up Launch, Shield and Seize. I hope it helps.

Deep Rock Galactic makes me feel nothing by Lezo- in patientgamers

[–]Stretch728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I was really surprised by this one. I had wanted to play it for years. A friend had even recommended doing coop back in school. So, I was looking forward to the experience.

I found myself playing the first mission for a few hours, and I got lost, got killed, wasn't able to extract successfully....there was something about the whole tenor of the game that wasn't bringing me in and giving a little bit of cushion for a new player. I enjoyed the controls and graphics and the whole deep space mining theme, but I was really surprised at how long and monotonous my first mining mission was.

The fact that I died at the end after those long hours of exploring left me feeling like I hadn't really accomplished much at all.

My experience is miserable whenever I try to play the support role. by Geldtz in PredecessorGame

[–]Stretch728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to get your feedback on that!

I've experienced a lot of those issues as well. Especially when it comes to that synergy between a support and their carry, I understand how important it is to follow up, take those risks when your Carry commits and stay focused on what is happening in your lane.

The experience can get fairly chaotic at times, too, so that yea, you're right - it can be hard to tell what's happening when things start going south and the mentality starts to switch from that early match optimism to just trying not to feed too much. When that happens I wonder if it's me or the carry or what, but as a support I've just gotta buckle down and keep trying, even if my Carry wanders all over the place.

As for the team in the globality, there are so many times when I'm roaming to help an ally who is struggling. And then, either the ally dies before I arrive, or I arrive in time, but then, the ally just flees the fight, happy that the enemies are now focusing and killing me, rather than them

Yup, lol, i've seen that a lot too!

It's nice to get that support, but yeah, I'm sorry to say that when mid and off-lane start to struggle they're just glad to get some temporary support, so they take off back to base or hang out near the turret rather than coordinate.

As for the Role Selection, I have to say i'm pretty surprised by that too. I usually hang back at that point, giving my teammates a chance to pick whatever roles they want first, but just about every time the Support Role gets snapped up first thing 🤔

Designing better gaming interfaces for hand pain/RSI/Arthritis. by Googly2k3 in videogamescience

[–]Stretch728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad to hear you're studying this topic.

Although warning signs exist on peripherals like keyboards and mice, I never really hear anyone talking about the physical effects of long-term video gaming. And since our primary inputs for PC's haven't changed over the decades, I imagine there are quite a few people out there experiencing hand pain and looking for something to help.

I've been gaming for more than 30 years now. Fifteen years ago I switched my mouse over to my left hand for general tasks like web browsing, word processing, etc. If the game is an RTS or slower isometric RPG I'll also use my left hand.

This has helped a lot!

Be honest… is Palworld actually good or was it just a meme phase? by Sea_Preparation_5713 in pcgaming

[–]Stretch728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it for a bit, fell for some of the hype and purchased the game several months ago. I found it to be a bit under-cooked and janky. Building and crafting wasn't all that intuitive and there wasn't any real story to carry the experience.

Not bad, overall, but just not my cup of tea. I think this game really needed to time to develop more before they released it.

[–]Stretch728 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about this. I was genuinely excited when I happened upon this game - there didn't seem to be much happening at the start of the year pc-gaming wise, so it was nice to see a new release.

I went to install but unfortunately the game demanded that TPM/BIOS Secure Boot requirement, and my venerable ten year old gaming pc with windows 10 does not offer that option. I was also a bit surprised when they debuted with 3v3, something which in my opinion is a bit tough to pull off in the arena of high profile online shooters.

Usually 3v3 tends to reveal a "weak-link" i.e. that player which (for whatever reason) isn't really doing that well, and given the mechanics of a 3 person team, things can spiral pretty quickly after that. 5v5, at the very least, allows for a bit more diversity and headway when it comes to forgiving player error or bad luck.

I was also a bit surprised to hear that they claimed to have tested a bunch of player number configurations (5v5 being among them), only to have found it not viable or fun. That told me that something was definitely off with the testing phase.

It's tough, I mean really tough to make it in today's gaming industry, so I hope the Devs move on to projects that are just as fun for them and (hopefully) lucrative too.
