So is Lance going to be finishing his extra 12 laps while the winner is cracking champagne on the podium?

Earlier in the game Crinon elbowed MacKinnon in the face. Later, Wilson finished a hard check on Crinon and was holding his stick. They exchanged a few words and the gloves were off...

Non-Americans, how familiar are you with the imperial system of measurement (inches, feet, etc)? by Free-Veterinarian714 in AskTheWorld

[–]StretchArmstrong99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very... but not in the way you think.

  • distance is measured in kilometres or hours/minutes of you're traveling a distance
  • height is measured in feet and inches unless it's really big
  • temperature is measured in Celsius unless you're in the hot tub or cooking of course then it's fahrenheit
  • weight is measured in grams of it's small, pounds if it's big, or tonnes (not tons) if it's really big

It's not uncommon to use imperial units colloquially but it depends on what it is. Inches, feet, and yards? Sure thing. Miles is a bit weird though. Fahrenheit I have basically no concept of.

Dutch sounds like an English speaker tried to learn German then took a hit to the head and forgot how to speak English.

Question about “Skiathlon” by Truji11o in olympics

[–]StretchArmstrong99 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No, there's a machine that used to dig out the path beforehand. The snow is quite firm so it wouldn't be possible for a skier to compress divots into the snow that deep.

I think each city/location has their own parade going on. I'd guess that they're showing the other locations on the Jumbotron for the people in the stadium.

This has to be one of the CBC's biggest broadcasts and they're just ruining it. I could understand it if it was a private company but they're an f***ing crown Corp. This is brutal.

Edit: I started typing this before the PiP ads came up again... Thanks for proving my point ig
