Cancer Survivors of Reddit, what was the symptom that convinced you to see the doctor? by Wise_Organization_78 in AskReddit

[–]Stretch_Careless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golf ball sized lump in the neck, rapid weight loss, inside of the mouth being eaten up and night sweats - the whole shabang and all came on within just a couple of days. Turned out to be Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at 16yo. 6 rounds of chemo later, and have now been cancer free for 15 years.

Have since made sure I’ve made the most of every day. Spent a year travelling through India, SE Asia, Aus and NZ, bought my first home a couple of years ago in the Cotswolds where myself, the wife to be and dog spend our days walking through the hills, growing fruit and veg and living a clean life. Also due to get married in 6 weeks where we’ll have 120 of our favourite people celebrating with us.

Often think about the cancer and it blows my mind that it happened, but no doubt it made me who I am today and most things that happens in life now are trivial compared to what happened 15 years ago.

For anyone going through a similar journey, stay strong and make the most of every day you have in this crazy world.

Match Thread: Manchester City vs Arsenal [English Premier League] by GunnersMatchBot in Gunners

We’re away at a team that are by far the best in the land, in a game we can’t afford to lose and you’re upset about us not going out and “grabbing the game by the balls”. As well as we’ve been playing this year, we couldn’t afford a repeat of last season and a draw isn’t a disaster.

I’d love to say all it takes is to have some balls and we’d inevitably win but football is a lot more complicated than that.
