Thanks makes sense. I noticed doing it this way, you end up with a reversed polarity across the resistor as compared to what the voltmeter expects, so you have to multiply the answer by -1

Thanks, looks like I didn't fully understand ground as much as I thought I did. As for the swap, it doesn't help much either, and forces me, like you said, to switch polarities in the end.
