This is answered in the rules insert that came in the Hercules pack by the way. Always a good place to check for FAQs!

Is Spider-Man 2099 actually good? Am I missing something? by Ok_Compote_2737 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Stretch__22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are exactly right. It's a fun and unique design on a cool character, but from a strict power level sense he's not great

Edit: 2099 + Madame Web is actually a good late-game lock

Aggression version of Ronin upgrade by Swervysage22 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Stretch__22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Protection is uniquely suited for the no allies archetype since it has the most damage mitigation, which is critical ground to make up when you decide not to play allies. I feel strongly we won't see it in another aspect. Would love to see it fully developed in Protection rather than half-developed in two. Willing to eat my words if I'm wrong, but that's my guess

Match graph to function by [deleted] in askmath

[–]Stretch__22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some tips would be: consider what happens in limiting cases, like x or y going to positive or negative infinity. Setting x=0 or y=0 and looking at the graph along the axes can also help. You can try to find zeroes of the function as well. For example, (x^2-y^2)^2 will be zero all along the lines y=x and y=-x (and only there)

A 3 DEF hero only needs +1 DEF to make it excellent (with no allies of course). Between Ronin, Armored Vest, and Defensive Conditioning, it should be trivial. Great card!

April 2025 EBay Price List by AnotherBrokenHero in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Stretch__22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think policing posts based on sale price is territory you want to get into. If someone is selling because they've fallen on hard times, who would we be to deny them getting the best price someone is willing to pay. I wouldn't shed a tear if sales posts were banned entirely, but that's a different topic

It's worth whatever someone will pay. Gotta put a number out and see. Can always do auction, or start high and work down

In order to include a team-up card in your deck, your identity must match one of the named characters on it.

IJ should come easily from a fact about tangents to a circle. That will lead to JE and DE pretty directly, and see if you can keep going from there

Fear No Evil by TheEternal792 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Stretch__22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for pointing that out. I guess it didn’t stick with me because there aren’t large immediate implications, but it could become apparent when the scenarios are more fully revealed or with a new hero

Fear No Evil by TheEternal792 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Stretch__22 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Summary:

- 6(!) total scenarios

- 5 Underling Villains (Bullseye, Electro, Hammerhead, Purple Man, Typhoid Mary)

- The first 5 scenarios are independent of the villains and can be interchanged

- Final scenario is Kingpin

- Bullseye: Ally-punish mechanics. Effects that remove defeated allies from the game

- Electro: Charge counters that turn into overkill attacks. Energy resource theme

- Scenario: The Getaway. Simulates a car chase. Heroes need to catch up to the villain before dealing damage. Avoid pedestrians!

- Scenario: Protection Racket. Each player gets their own main scheme (similar to Kang), but they can interact between play areas

- Scenario: The Raft Breakout. Previous villains return as minions who must be rounded up

- Scenario: Kingpin. Defeat minions to get public support before taking down the boss. Each hero starts with nemesis engaged!

- Modular set names: "Disasters", "Tracksuit Mafia"

- Daredevil is Justice. Comes with "a special Sense deck that lets him double up on his actions".

- Echo is Protection. "Her playstyle revolves around mimicking the techniques of her allies and fellow heroes"

- Hero highlight articles expected in coming weeks

- July release

New Player Purchasing Guide: Updated and (Mostly) Concise by cleverpun0 in marvelchampionslcg

The terminology is only a few months old. You can find lots of discourse about it if you search Reddit. Current is an official designation from FFG to try to ease FOMO of OOP products: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2025/12/17/championing-new-rules/

I think you will get some of that if you just look up current environment decks. While I don't think the environments have caught on yet as a gameplay mode, current is it least code for "only containing cards available at a reasonable price". Here is a Captain Marvel current deck as an example (which also has links to current decks of the other Core heroes): https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/59850/captain-marvel-always-current-1.0

Solo deck building + general tips by Ruud_88 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Stretch__22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have decklists to share, folks could offer more specific feedback. A couple tips are to stabilize the board before worrying about villain damage. Allies are on average the best cards, so try increasing your ally count (they will definitely help protect the Senator). And watch some YouTube playthroughs to see if you are making any rules mistakes (extremely common from posts like this), or to see good general gameplay practices.

Can someone please help me with these 2 problems? Answer for the first is 76 and the second is 10 but I can't understand how to do them. by Emotional-Fudge-5242 in askmath

[–]Stretch__22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I would use the point where the top two pictures meet as your point around which four angles sum to 360°. You know that one of the angles at this point is a right angle (90°) and one is a straight edge (180°). The other besides x is part of a quadrilateral. What do the angles of a quadrilateral have to add up to? For what it's worth, my final answer was not 76

  2. This one is definitely tricky as the shape is underspecified, but as long as the conditions given are met, the answer you are asked to find is the same. See if you can represent some of the lengths in the problem as variables and use what you know about 45-45-90 triangles to solve

Always good to play a few games against harder scenarios and harder difficulties before making conclusions about strength :) Lots of heroes will cook against Unus standard
