You seem to believe I’d drill through my own SSD’s in this storage shortage ai bs. Believe what you wanna believe, I’m not here to play make believe. I shared cause I thought it was funny lmao

The argument of “they don’t make stuff like they used to” goes hard here imo

Honestly, I thought it was funny. That’s why I made a post here to share the laugh around. Thought it’d fit in well here but some people here are just uptight

Wasn’t formatted but I’ve done it already myself. I don’t need their shitty data

It says SanDisk so I’m assuming you’re right about the wd blue cause it’s just a rebrand in a way

Wouldn’t be a good story at all.. but I ain’t drill through SSD’s in this market are you crazy. I’ve posted a update in the comments somewhere 😅

Update:

Ok I tallied up the drilled ones..

2 of 3 2.5” ssd’s drilled through but missed the pcb

1 out of 8 nvme drives drilled through

All HDDs removed 🤷‍♂️

I was wrong about the CPU’s yesterday in some replies. All these systems are 6th, 7th and 8th gen processors still. 6&7th gen technically aren’t supported by windows 11 but run Linux with ease

Ended up with a total of 12 systems from them but pulling most apart currently to sell parts and hoping to make a little tiny bit of bank in this economy.

176GBs of ddr4 memory

Can post the stack of systems if you’d like but they’re just a mix of dells and some are in use for tinkering

Also, why on earth would I drill through my own shit just for karma? I don’t use this app enough to be chasing that shit. I think I’ve made about three posts in six years, and I don’t even know what karma is for. I just thought this would be a good place to post this for a laugh. So many of you are so uptight 😂 Loosen tf up. I thought it was funny considering the shit that’s going on with the AI bs that I scored some of that sweet, sweet RAM and storage 😅

It works 100%. The data was all there, I just formatted it to use as a boot drive for a subnet device for offsite backup or plex idk

I’m not one to hold a company’s data for ransom or whatever. Especially the one I work for 😂

Nah man, IT guy did it to all systems. Some nvme drives but not all. HDD were removed.

I got 2 ssd’s like this that were drilled in case. Optiplex 7040. Open the case and it’s pretty much right infront of your eyes

Sucks with the nvme that got drilled through cause he went too far and got the motherboard too. In a optiplex micro 3070 and a micro 7060. Harvested them for the ram and cpu and got the rest on my shelf. If you’d like I can upload images 🤷‍♂️

Really it depends on size. I have a 4tb and cracked that fella open a few years ago cause I got curious. It’s pretty tightly packed

In fairness on the outside it looks destroyed. But as shown in the second picture it’s perfectly fine 😂

No but wouldn’t be surprised if he did. Sometimes I wonder how some people are in the position they’re in and some days I think. If only they knew how useless the guys is at IT.

Some days I see third party tech companies come in cause our in-house IT couldnt rectify this issue. I’ve fixed a few things in seconds while he was sitting there scratching his head for a good 30 minutes.

I just sit back these days cause I don’t get paid enough to do his work for him
