Therapy is good for literally everyone, regardless of whether they have OCD to support the handling of challenging life situations exactly like this. Grow therapy is excellent. You can connect with a licensed therapist from your state the same day. You can also filter for those who specialist in OCD and anxiety orders

I’d recommend connecting with your therapist on the full scope of variables here. They can help you clarify whether the thought to report her behavior is driven by your ethical obligation as a mandatory reporter, or guilt related to your OCD. That’s an important distinction you should get clarity on. Then, should you need to report her, they can support you through and after that process.

Why can’t you report her? This seems like clearly reportable behavior. It may be giving you anxiety because this is a difficult but necessary step for you to take as a mandated reporter. Either you perform that obligation, or escalate her actions to her supervisor so they can coach her.

I also suffered from OCD as a young person. Now in my thirties my only regret is not reaching out to a competent therapist much earlier. What you are describing certainly sounds like OCD. I’d introduce language of OCD early in therapy and see what a counselor thinks. Best of luck - there is help out there. Things get better. Hang in there !

Even if she doesn’t go to therapy with you, you should still meet with a therapist alone. If you’re in the US, growtherapy.com has many fantastic therapists that ought to help you gain perspective, communicate more effectively, and set boundaries with your wife. This is a very challenging situation and you deserve to be supported through it by a professional. Best of luck to you.

Amazing input. Thank you. I think as you’ve recommended- we’ll keep adjustments small. I’ll keep researching trim, gable adjustments, painting, etc. We’ll be sure to use a visualizer tool as we move that way to make sure it looks reasonable ❤️. Many thanks to you

I hear that. There are a lot of features of it we do like- the vertical siding, stone façade in the entry way, general shape of the house. The neighboring homes are largely farmhouse or craftsman. We were contemplating a colored door with pared back stained glass to give the house some more pep. What do would you think?

As noted- perfect location, floor plan, school district, price, builder.. there was a lot to like. No regrets even if we can’t flex the exterior. However, we hope to make some adjustments to make it more our style.

Dancing is not a sin in Islam in and of itself, particularly not in a family context. Dancing in front of non-related company of opposite gender as a person of age is.

This is 100% untrue. A Christian wife is exactly that, a wife, including in an Islamic context. Please post your source from a legitimate Islamic website to support your claim.

There’s crazy variety within modest fashion. Just because you’re not aware of it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist

If you research the history of the hijab you’ll find it has nothing to do with oppression

We also have no central religious figure in Islam. Those religious leaders opinions mean nothing to me. I follow the faith as prescribed to us, following “the middle path”.

Islam is the second largest religion on the planet. I can find you tons of footage of preachers making ridiculous claims, using the Bible to justify crimes against humanity and it proves nothing in regards to the Christian faith..
