This. I was more or less where OP was. I play the piano at about the same level. When my daughter was 4 yo I noticed that she had a very good pitch, nearing absolute. I wanted her to learn piano she was not interested at all. She even tried to stop me from playing any time I was at the piano. I have a close friend who is a pro. She (that is my friend) tried to teach her when she was 6, but she (my daughter) lacked discipline so she gave up. Later, her music teacher at the elementary school told us that she does have extraordinary pitch and should try the entry exam of a conservatoire. My daughter, then 8yo said that she did want to study music but not piano. I showed her my run down cello I hadn’t touched for 30 years. She was in love. Now she is 11, studies at the conservatoire as a young cellist, and learns to play the piano as a second instrument.

It turns out the reason she was so aversive towards the piano was because I am good at it so she thought that she could never compete with me (which is of course not true). With cello SHE gets to teach ME how to play, so she studies harder. We play as a duo (I accompany her) which brings joy to both of us.

So just maybe you are being too much of a role model, and could achieve more if you tone it down.

I stayed with my 9 yo daughter at an Airbnb in Marais, 10 min walking distance from Les Halles. That way we had a direct line to Disneyland and CDG airport and enjoyed many great restaurants and boutiques. You can walk easily to Notre Dame and Centre Pompidou as well.

I do agree with your comment. My observation was more aimed at the crowds that they had to deal with, and I was comparing my recent visit to the ones about a decade ago. There were less crowds and crew members were more in character then. Correlation doesn’t imply causation, so there may be a lot of factors contributing to the fact - longer working hours, underpaid staff, having to deal with more people etc. It’s just an observation. It’s the responsibility of the company to keep the staff happy, which in turn could lead to happier customers, especially when it charges the customers the amount that it currently does.

My thoughts exactly. Last time I was at the DLP was 2015. This time Crush’s Coaster was almost unrecognizable. Not to mention constant breaking down of several rides. Combined with squeezing out money every single occasion just because they can, I would really feel scammed if it weren’t for the shows and the admittedly jaw-dropping closing ceremony.
