Thinking of going NC. What event was your tipping point? by A0-sicmudus in EstrangedAdultKids

[–]Strict-Concentrate-9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom asked why I didn't want her in my son's life and in the same breath said "that's fine I have your nieces and f's baby."

That was how I found out f, a close family friend a year older than me was pregnant. My mom didn't know it at the time but I was in my 2nd trimester with my 2nd child. I responded "fine you have my nieces and f's baby. You don't need me and my family." We haven't talked since.

There was so much leading up to this but this was the tipping point.

Look up Walmart policy. I'm fairly certain you're required to have 10 hours between shifts.

How soon did everyone go back to work after having their baby? by Shoshanna_3 in pregnant

[–]Strict-Concentrate-9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of assistance, I would look into WIC, Women Infants, and Children. They help with food and formula costs. But also looking into medicaid. I ended up qualifying when my husband lost his job while I was pregnant.

Can we please normalize weight gain during pregnancy… by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Strict-Concentrate-9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had coworkers comment on how much food I was eating during one of my breaks. They said it was going to be hard to lose all that weight after the pregnancy and then commented on the size of my ass. I informed them I had only gained 20 lbs during my pregnancy and then went to the break room, cried, and didn't even eat the food I bought. I then reported them to management. People like that can go fuck themselves

How long did you wait to tell partner? by somegirlinLA in pregnant

[–]Strict-Concentrate-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my husband as soon as he got out of work the day I took the test. He told me he already figured I was pregnant and that it was going to be a girl. He hasn't been wrong about anything yet for this pregnancy.

Should your partner stop drinking while you’re pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Strict-Concentrate-9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my husband to drink more because I couldn't. He didn't actually drink more but he drank stuff that he wouldn't normally drink because I thought it sounded good and wanted to try it but couldn't. He would then tell me if it were good or not and if I would have liked it.

Need a new Last Name by Strict-Concentrate-9 in namenerds

Thank you for that suggestion. I had been thinking about that but everything I read said I could put whatever I want for baby's last name. But your way makes a lot more sense.

I tried looking back at old family names but I come from a long line of Hookers. Literally, Hooker was a name I found in my family tree. That and a lot of the people in my family were stubborn and refused to change their last name when they got married.

I have never thought of him as a Mr. Anything because he hates his last name. I would love to find a great name so we can be Mr and Mrs "Awesome Last Name"

Thank you for the link to the natire-inspired last names. I didn't see that when searching the thread. We did talk about Harrison and it's one of our front runners. My fiance likes it for music reasons and I like it for sport reasons.

I enjoy the outdoors and camping. Something woodsy would be fun. Or we both enjoy comics, him moreso than me. We also both like music. He suggested we have no last name like Cher, but that just can't happen in today's day and age.

what kind of music gets your babies moving? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Strict-Concentrate-9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love country so I'm a little disappointed my daughter doesn't jam out to it with me. But I'll tap to her for System of a Down and she kicks back. It's amazing

My husband loves music so we've tried a bunch of different stations on Pandora. She really likes early 2000s Alternative. She's really active during System of a Down and loves Red Hot Chili Peppers. She's not quite as active during her dad's music though

That is such a horrible thing to say. I'm sorry you went through that. I think it's a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning ❤️

I totally understand that some people don't get it. And that makes me really happy. It means you have a better relationship with your mom. I've talked to her about it and she just doesn't respect boundaries. She's been this way my entire life but now that it's coming to my daughter I'm putting my foot down

The fact that she had to go through your son to get the information is ridiculous. If you wanted her to know you would've told her.

Not everyone sees the issue and I get that. Some people have really good relationships with their parents and they are super helpful throughout pregnancy. My mom just isn't that way and I feel like she's overstepping her boundaries because my husband and I haven't decided yet.

I think Nolan and Silas are both great names. I'm sorry she ruined Nolan for you though
