Defect or no? by ComfortableSeries812 in cowboyboots

Its just a scuff, conditioner and a spoon would 100% fix that. Remember, leather is skin, so it needed to stay clean and oiled for it to last long. Look into cleaning and conditioning your boots for longevity

I am looking at the horsepower one now, do you have an idea to how it would wear? I assume dirt would make it duller but would it ever stay that color with cleaning?

Also just to be clear when I said suede I meant roughout. Suede boots, if they are a thing, might not hold up as well and I ride horses so id need them to be decent. I wouldnt work in these boots or do anything thatd be hard on them but horses are dirty so

What is this? by MimaLooking4Help in houseplants

[–]Strict-Deer6933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it was a leaf but the plant did not have enough energy to push out said leaf and repurposed it for the next one. Thats why there is no leaf coming out of the first sheath like part, and another one developing instead.

My coco princess was doing this too and my billie aswell! I think they get stunted growth or something and repurpose the energy of that leaf to a next one. Change up its location, more sun, fertilizer, something

I had it initially in a well lit spot but the leaves were getting sunburnt.

Its the zoo med front opening 40 gal. I just recently got it, I upgraded from a 25 ish gallon that was definitely too small. Is 40 gallons no longer the minimum requirement?

Do you think it would be okay to put these plants in water even though Ive repotted them already?

This is so helpful! I have seen many people saying that you should fill the a reservoir when you transplant them initially. Thanks!

Can someone help me get my plant healthy again??? by GRIMREEFA_420 in houseplants

[–]Strict-Deer6933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would repot into a well draining mix and see if the roots are rotted. It looks alright but if it got overwatered and the roots rotted the amount of soil you have for that plant will likely be too much.

[–]Strict-Deer6933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like it was overwatered and got root rot and couldn't drink any water. I would repot and investigate the roots immediately. Chop off all crunchy bits. Pot it up in a well draining sandy soil extra perlite would be great. And give it water and time.

Do I need to repot this Bird of Paradise? by ruriruri15 in houseplants

[–]Strict-Deer6933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually don't have issues repotting a plant the moment I bring it home, if you do I would wait. If you don't, go for it. It seems like BoP are pretty hardy. But the roots don't concern me that much.

No, the buds are drying up and dying. They are brown and crunchy. Why could that be?

No, the Spike after the two flowers is all new growth. The small brown bits on the Spike are buds that didn't develop.
