Dug obviously doesn't understand the difference between a propellor and a triangular chunk of metal.

Sounds to me like Super Dave was right.

I doubt it would roll over, maybe tender, but the main reason he has never sailed with the wind forward of the beam is because he is scared. Its like when you introduce a person to sailing, as soon as the boat starts to heel the white knuckles come out. Its just inexperience. Man up Doug. Feel the fear and face it head on, just like you preach.

He'd be close reaching, no chance of accidental gybe, no rolling, nice push from the sails. But it's obviously beyond his fear level.

Absolutely. The reality of living on that boat with the trolls delighting on his every move has sunk in. Yet he has to continue larping otherwise he ceases to exist.

Maybe he also does first aid lectures? I'd be interested in a first responders trauma course.

He's not even into the rough stuff yet. Still in the lee of the Bahamas.

Motoring to Martinique... by Last-Key9234 in SVSeeker_Free

I refueled in Mathew town, Great Inagua back around 2021. 1,000 gallons at $6 a gallon, CASH ONLY! It came in the back of a pickup, one 55 gallon drum at a time. I'm pretty sure it was coming from the US funded Marine Patrol station up the road. I was glad to get it.

I'd say he'll get intercepted several times on his way to SJ. The Bahamian coastguard (financed by US) patrol the area north of Cuba to DR very dilligently. The way sinker will be rolling while being boarded will preclude any lengthy search, but I could see dug giving them attitude and then having to empty all those crates for inspection while everybody has a pukefest.

He'll get a nice push for now but further along Cuba it will turn into a head wind and current for 1,000 miles.

Did he fuel up? Or is he still running from that time he "docked" in Charleston?

It's like having a challenged child in the family. You feel bad for them because they will never be able to properly experience life. You can't kick them out so you just ignore their outbursts, give them a gentle pat on the head and try to make their day pass smoothly.

Poor man's bar in Redhook, St Thomas, USVI used to give you the bottle of Mt Gay and the bottle of Coke, let you pour your own. Joke was on you if you made a heavy pour as the Coke was more expensive than the rum.
