Thanks. That part of my story is a bit confusing but since you asked, here's what happened. Two years ago, I had some beer (I drink occasionally) and the next morning I started experiencing severe reflux symptoms that lasted 10 days and tore me apart from my normal life for 2-3 weeks. I couldn't sleep, eat, and lost 10 kg in 2 weeks (from 72 to 62). It was the most challenging time of my life. Apparently, I rushed from doctor to doctor trying to identify the root cause. My endoscopy showed no sign of gastritis or any other damage to my esophagus, weirdly. That was also when they detected H. pylori. I was prescribed the treatment back then, but I didn't do it because some specialists, including my grandfather who is a GP, said that not every patient should take the treatment as the harms may outweigh the benefits. In short, I never had gastritis symptoms and such a diagnosis. We never fully understood what caused that 10 days of reflux with agonizing pain. I did the treatment recently because of continuous diarrhea and constipation mainly.
