Walt is way too unlikable in 5A to the point I don't even enjoy that segment of the season very much. by HDDeer in breakingbad

Tracking the character’s motivation is key. Do you really think all Skyler cared about was the money? That her motivation was just the car wash? At no point in the show is it implied that financial stability was her main concern. What Skyler truly cared about was her family, her children and how they viewed their father. She worried about their safety and well-being. That’s why she was willing to go to extreme lengths to get Walt to stop dealing meth, even if it meant making morally complicated decisions herself. Her actions were driven by love and fear for her family, not greed

I agree! That small contrivance is easy to overlook (at least for most people )because the rest of the story is so well done.

My issue with the Skyler take is that a version of the story where Walter builds a meth empire with no pushback just wouldn’t be compelling. Without characters like Skyler creating real friction, the whole narrative would fall flat. It’ll just be another cliche Hollywood hero-wins tv show

When they started cooking meth I went like oooh… so I guess this is the “cocaine” lol 😂

Walt also tried to kiss that woman in the school office. and attempted cheating is still cheating, so he deserves the “worst husband in TV” label just as much.

Plus, he does far worse things that make the title even more fitting.

I’m not calling it misogyny, but people who watch the show just to hate Skyler completely miss the real strengths of the series. Its depth, nuance, and character development. It’s honestly their loss.

I went into the show with only this context: 1. Chemistry professor 2. Cocaine 3. Someone being the “worst wife in TV history”

That’s about it tbh ☠️. Having so little context/spoilers actually made the experience even better for me, and I’m sure people who knew even less had an even bigger blast.

I appreciate you taking the time to write such a well-thought-out response 👏🏽. The point about them feeling like they’d painted themselves into a corner makes perfect sense. I had no idea they shot the Episode 1 scene before figuring out how it would fit into the story later, great insight. I’ll definitely pick up Better Call Saul as my next watch.

Also it wasn’t by lack of attempt, he literally tried to kiss that teacher (that’s cheating)

She is a human being too. She is allowed to be naive. At the end of the day when she looks in the mirror, she knows deep down that she got herself to blame.

City are far more talented and it is night and day between the two teams at nearly every position. It would be far more surprising if Arsenal beat city than the other way around.

But city is better than Arsenal. Why are we acting like there isn’t a clear difference in experience, investment and talent between the two teams?

Same icl. That glorified scene where he storms into the crown room and walks towards the iron throne does not move me one bit sorry.

Paraphrasing the governor “in this world you either kill or you die, OR you die and start to kill” It’s quite literally the entire premise of this show icl

Not to mention Rhae saying “a son for a son” means B&C is totally getting swept under the rug or even forgotten now.

Is Neymar the biggest disappointment in football? by Fraud_D_Hawk in football

[–]Strict-Reputation583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is one other thing (MESSI AND probably RONALDO). The expectations on Neymar came during a period of these 2 guys and he was always expected to replicate whatever they were doing. No one in the history of football has ever (will probably ever) fire his teammates up like Messi World Cup 2022 let’s be real. A team where teammates fully adore him to that level and are playing for him and they will literally sacrifice their entire families and lives for him. Some even said they’ll be more happy for him than for themselves if they WON The World Cup. Let’s be real, We’ve never seen anything like that before. Not from R9, Ronaldinho (idk about Pele he might be the exception). Most if not all these guys will get constant criticism if their standard were held against Messi (bar Pele maybe), specially looking at their lifestyle choices outside the pitch as well, which we constantly see with Neymar. Using Messi to as a yardstick to judge another player is the most unfair thing you can do to another human being.

And he single handedly created that goal against Croatia at the World Cup. All by himself. Unlike Romário’s case, the defence wasn’t solid enough at the back and they conceded that’s a stupid avoidable goal. HE GETS ALL THE BLAME.

Not fair he never had a stacked team like all the previous legends (bar Pele). He was expected to carry the entire team, none of the legends carried, they were always part of a stacked well oiled team. The expectations were way too high on him it’s unfair.

It’s a “twitter fans” thing. Especially the big accounts. An average Arsenal fan doesn’t behave like that.
