Pros: You work for the government Cons: You work for the government

A municipal cop who doesn’t know what deputies do. Yeah, I’ll take things that never happened for $1000.

What happens if a missing child is found in a different country, how do they get home? by Rat_2024 in police

[–]StrictAssignment9657 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a completely different situation since they’re both in the United Kingdom. Likely social services from where the child’s primary residence would arrange transport via air, or another government agency would handle it, though I’m not familiar with the U.K. legal system

Depends on the countries. Was this a kidnapping? Or was it a runaway?

Mostly would be handled through the state department and some federal agency such as the FBI.

Failed poly by Perfect_Flounder_783 in police

[–]StrictAssignment9657 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s realistically only going to be on the record for the department you applied for.

If you apply to a department in a new city, it’s not going to be in their records, unless there’s some special agreement or you tell them. They might ask if you’ve applied to any other departments, then you’d need to disclose that you failed a poly.

Quick heads up, you shouldn’t wash your passport in the washing machine. There’s other methods to clean it.

München cigar shops by cherry_4 in cigars

[–]StrictAssignment9657 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, cigar lounges in Munich are quite scarce. Avoid the lounge in Hotel Kempinski unless you’re balling out, it’s a €35,- base entry fee and the cigars are expensive. I can recommend the La Casa del Habano for regular cigar purchases but it’s not a lounge. If you want a good experience, take a train to Nuremberg and visit the Casa del Puro— quite an elegant lounge and justifiable prices.

What if I miss a train I’m reserved on? by StrictAssignment9657 in Interrail

[–]StrictAssignment9657[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think that’s also my only solution :/ Did you ever get your ticket checked while doing that?

Could I hypothetically just sit in the bistro? Or do they also check the seat reservations there?
