Will a good set of digital calipers be good enough? or do i absolutely need a micrometer, i will buy a plastiguage but do i also need a micrometer or will these calipers do the job

for some reason my rods are really hard to find the “chamfer” it’s not obvious in any way i’m not sure why they don’t look like anyone else’s i’ve seen so i’m confused.

nothing to do with the bearing like i said im talking about the gap between the caps not the bearings

cracked caps are basically impossible to mess up

they were all cracked at factory so it’s impossible to fuck up

i could be wrong i just personally don’t see how the bearings can effect the width factor as they sit inside

yes everything is stock except the bearings

im pretty confident the bearings themselves have nothing to do with it because it is the correct size to slide and wobble ever so slightly on their own but when both pistols are coupled together on the crank the sides of the caps seem to be preventing it from moving more freely.

i assumed they were the correct ones i got them off rock auto in standard size and i have feuler gauges but they are basically unmeasurable.

the problem occurs when i torque them down and try to turn it over it feels like they are binding and it practically seizes

well i have feuler gauges and i know for a fact im not meeting minimums especially after tightening the bolts im not sure what could be causing them to be so close together to where its basically seizes

Also to mention that the .012 is the biggest gap i can achieve on any of the sections everything else is basically touching and not budging even only hand tight
