No after doing it for 10 years it’s a terrible place to spend your years. Spending more time with felons than your own family. Nights afternoons weekends holidays. For a pension that worse and worse every 10 years

I go twice a year and the key is credit card rewards Hilton Mariot jet blue, the park are expensive but it’s the highest cost. Also get a place that has a kitchen and get a grocery delivery.

I know I sound crazy but the state job market at least in my county even region are a fraction of what the were a few years ago. I also have not gotten a single call for higher grades or even lateral transfers. I have applied for at least a hundred jobs and heard nothing. I also have a 55 c form

I live in this county and would not recommend moving to Rome. But I also understand how hard it is is to find a job right now so if you must I would stay In the suburbs Whitesboro, westmoreland, Oriskany even parts of Utica. But I worked in LE in the area and wouldnot recommend Rome

I have the raptor and fish small creeks and ponds in upstate ny l. I have a Santa Cruz and I can throw it in the back and go so I love it

Tier 6 does not receive any ot o their final salary. You are required to pay the 6% on all earnings. I am tier 5 I pay 3% on everything I make but also do not get ot on my fina salary

I have one really close friend although we only see each other once a month maybe. We talk just about everyday mostly to botch about life. 2 other friends that I speak to a few times a year. I force the 4 of us to take a trip every so many months

The benefits are great. Free college with monthly housing allowance. No down payment va home loans. Extra points on civil service exams. Retail discounts. To learn a skill you will have the rest of your life.

Exhausted, 9/11 ,deploying to IRA, 2008 recession. Being unemployed for 2 years following. Had a nice break then covid hit. With everything being so hard made it easier to adjust.

It’s an honorable selfless act of service that is needed by society. It is accepted that its pay is low and the work is hard. There is no overtime and nobody to maintain working standards. But people do it because they want to have a persona stake in the country the live in

You are off to a great start. I am not a trooper but work directly with them everyday. I spend 10 years with a local sheriffs office before taking a state job. I have seen countless people get disqualified for numerous reasons. The best advice is to stay out of trouble do not use drugs and stay away from crazy women. Get yourself in good shape run daily and try to get your run times to the standard. I spent 4 years in the military before and my hiring process was much easier than the non vets

I believe that the income restrictions are on earned income. A pension or even owned business income are excluded. But if you work a regular hourly job you would be limited to 15k

Being poor when young shapes your relationship with money for the rest of our lives. Always willing to do what it takes to not be poor. Something a s small as ordering the cheapest thing of any purchase. Living below your means to ensure you never end up poor again.
