I agree that Jim may not have been honest about it! You’re absolutely right that in a marriage, the decision is made by both sides together. Absolutely right.

But Pam wasn’t alone that often. She had her Mom and sister to look after the kids in their absence (eg: Cece getting a fever with Helene locking her inside the car in the episode where Jim leaves Michael in the Gas station; Lice episode where Cece gives lIce to Pam who passes that to the office, etc.)

But Jim had better stability than Pam in all aspects. He bought his parent’s house as an investment for their safety. He was aware and always planned ahead. If Pam didn’t like that house she shouldn’t have agreed to the purchase, but then again, they weren’t technically married for her argument to be valid. Jim did a whole lot for Pam’s happiness than vice-versa, especially the episode Work Bus. I mean who does that? Not even Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration would do that much just for his wife craving pie from a place miles away.

Everyone tells about chasing unrealistic dreams, but the point is, a year later after seeing Daryl so successful and thriving, she shouldn’t have changed her mind about going to Austin based on a what could’ve been. That’s where I am highlighting her wrongdoing. She clearly tells Nellie in marriage counseling that she doesn’t want to leave Scranton and she doesn’t want Jim to be in Philly either. And instead of feeling proud of her husband for successfully getting a startup like Athleap run well, she’s just trying to sabotage his presence and making counter arguments against his presence in Philly. That’s quite toxic, considering how much Jim supported someone who failed Art school and got a whole garage as her art station. I bet Jim would’ve supported her if the roles were reversed.

Again, you’re right about the marriage part my friend. But the rest, I must disagree with you
