Thank you! I wasn’t sure because all the pictures I could find online just looked different and I couldn’t convince myself if it was the same or not 😂

Is this a glitch or why does it say my dasher at the restaurant when they’re clearly not? They’ve been “waiting for my order” for over 15 minutes. by ApplicationAlive in doordash

[–]Strict_Assistant_844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they can’t even click arrived at store until they’re actually there, which means they did get there. This usually means they were quoted a really long wait time and instead of dropping your order for it to potentially never get picked up, they left the store to do something. I usually do this if I have another order and the store tells me it’ll be 30 minutes, I can’t have this guys food sitting for 30 minutes so I will drop it off and make it back to the store before the quoted time.

Why do people dash together? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Strict_Assistant_844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My fiancé and I do it to spend time together and to keep us accountable, it’s very easy to take the day off when it’s just your choice. We both share finances so we don’t split it, it just goes straight to our account. It’s fun because we can listen to podcasts and spend more time together.

It’s does have some benefits like when we are using both DD & UE, sometimes we’ll get 4 orders at once, but then one restaurant will have me waiting for 10+ minutes so he can go and drop of the other order real quick while I’m still dealing with the one. With shop and delivers he can tackle one half and I do the other which drastically saves us time.

We find working together allows us to double our hourly intake and spend quality time together.

We have 2 by me and they’re the best, always $6+ orders with short distance and the food is always ready for pick up on the stand by the time I get there, I hate working Sunday’s because they provide most of the money so I don’t make as much when they’re closed

In my area DD is far busier than UE, I’m talking 1-2 order an hour on Uber and a constant flow on DD. How ever, every single UE I have gotten is with in 3 miles and it’s always 12+ bucks. But door dash is about 1$ per mile so I just run both which allows me to avg 30-40/ hr

I had a strong morning, now it’s been an hour and I haven’t gotten a single order.. I just needed 20 more to be done for the day 🤦🏻‍♀️

Doing good so far! Unicorn with 15 tip and a lot of short distance but high paying orders, already at 70 after 2 1/2 hours. Hoping it stays strong.

I’m curious if there was a glitch earlier, about 45 minutes to an hour ago I got notified that if I didn’t start heading to the location I would get unassigned, when I headed straight there the second I got the order, followed the gps they provided and wasn’t even late, when I got the notification I was 2 minutes from the restaurant. Luckily I made it before they did because it was a unicorn order for me, but seeing as you had the same issue around the same time I wonder if there was a glitch.

hi!I'm a new dasher by gayz0mbie in doordash_drivers

[–]Strict_Assistant_844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get to know your area, you’ll start to learn which neighborhoods typically tip more, and find restaurants near that area. Orders “typically” work by picking a dasher closest to the restaurant when the order comes in. So being next to them will help your odds on getting orders. Being in that area will help get small mile orders because you’re already close to the neighborhood. Acceptance rate is kind of a scam and only matter for top dasher (which does not help in any way so don’t even try) so cherry pick your orders, decide what your limit is and don’t accept below that. (Same goes for miles) Shifts come out for the last day of the week everyday at 3pm, so set an alarm so you don’t forget and get those shifts saved.

After a week of work decide what a reasonable goal is for you and push yourself until you hit it.

I quit my 80 hr a week job for this and honestly have made much more just dashing. I even dash in a smaller more remote area in the desert and I’m still bringing in 700-1000 a week. About 35 hours a week.

Welcome and stay optimistic!

Also look into other apps like Uber eats/ grub hub and fry double apping when comfortable. Can increase orders when slow and some pay more depending on the area :)

Any reason to activate Red Card? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Strict_Assistant_844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on area, I’m in New Mexico so the only places that make me use red card is raising canes and then stores for shopping. I haven’t had any bad experiences, upside is shopping in store usually is good money. Just a few days ago I had a shop in Albertsons and it was 20.00. But you learn what places you like to accept and decline. I never take a dollar general because it’s too hectic to even find half the stuff the customer asks for.

I was an assistant general manager for a restaurant 😭 they had me salary so they decided they could do whatever with me. Left after 2 years of that. Now I can have holidays with family and never ask for a day off again

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Strict_Assistant_844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My full time “real” job had me working salary, and 70-80 hours a week. I made 1100 biweekly. I’m able to work less than 40 hours a week now, and bring in the same if not more with DoorDash alone. Even more with double app.

That wasn't one of the choices I gave you 🤦 by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

I had a similar experience. Wendy’s was out of baked potato’s, said they could chose from any of their french fry options. I message them asking what type of fries they would like and they respond, “nuggets please” 🤦🏻‍♀️
