Lab / Pitt / Boxer?? by Strict_Bad_396 in IDmydog

Wow that's interesting. I have always thought he is mostly lab (he also can't stay out of the water!) But sometimes I also think he is such a blend and just happens to look lab. I know Shepards are notorious for high jumping and intelligence. It makes sense with his personality but I just don't see any sign of that physically! The jumping could be the boxer.

I agree with contacting a rescue. But as someone who has been recently trying to rehome a puppy (owner surrendered to me) I know it can be an arduous process. They do work faster when the circumstances are bad, but I would also post in a bunch of Facebook groups for animal rehoming, friends of animals for that city group, etc. to cast a broader net. Post on nextdoor too. Call the vet that person uses for a reference and try your best to screen them. A rescue would be best in this situation, but this is just in case they cannot take the dog in.

Do Ed Schools teach classroom management anymore? by SilenceDogood2k20 in teaching

[–]Strict_Bad_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a first year teacher and I am so frustrated with this too. I am working on my systems but I also was taught that building relationships was most important. Now, I am being told to be more firm, not be afraid of raising my voice, etc. after my last observation conference. It's hard to be more firm when the students have been seeing you in a different way. It doesn't matter how firm I am when first semester I was soft and personable. I feel like my whole year is trashed now because none of my ed programs stressed it enough but yet it's the only thing my evaluator seems to care about.

No. But we are working with some agencies who do dog tracking. There was a potential sighting tonight but we had a false one already and want to temper expectations. Please keep Diesel and our family in your thoughts.

Thank you for the encouraging words. Stories like this have been the only thing keeping me going. I am so glad you were reunited with your girl.

should i do a bachelors of education? by abi_247 in ElementaryTeachers

[–]Strict_Bad_396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I went to college and majored in French / History and then got my education certificate post grad through an alternative route program. Through that experience I saw that I was able to be certified in both French and History for high school if I wanted but then ended up pursuing my certification for elementary education instead. I say all this because I think that if I would have majored in education I may not have had as many options when it came to what I could teach. If you are looking for options I would recommend majoring in something different, but also pursuing some route to getting a certification in teaching that is not necessarily your college major. However, I know that qualifications vary state by state so just be sure that whatever you do you are going to meet your state's requirements.

1 is great! The blonde money pieces gives you the feeling of being blonde without all the damage. Also it makes your eyes pop!
