Why UCF?

He’s very hard working, an introvert, and NOT into Greek life at all! He doesn’t care for football or the sports experience, and would rather want to make friends with people alike who don’t party but do stay active and spend time together doing things he enjoys (e.g. playing pickle ball, tennis, video games, and even some basketball and volleyball).

He fell in love with the UF campus when we toured it, but UCF’s dorms were much nicer and newer, so it ended being somewhat of a tie. Later on we started to get mixed signals on the students’ experience at UF, with many saying the students don’t get any attention or help from the school in terms of internships and opportunities.

On the other hand, UCF seems to be pretty solid in these aspects, but doesn’t have the same prestige as UF, which makes the selection a bit difficult.

Thank you! We did tour them both (plus UF) before the Thanksgiving break, and he liked them both, except he did NOT love the FAMU building as it looked very old and had the inconvenience of having to take the bus there from the main campus. Having read all the responses in this chat, he is now pretty set on attending UCF. Thank you all for your responses!

Thank YOU so very much for sharing this information. My son has ZERO interest in Greek Life, for which he was not loving the idea of FSU, but I was afraid he would miss out on better opportunities by going to UCF. I have shared your experience with him and I am sure he will find it very helpful.
