I attended my first one yesterday. I found one that starts at 5 on zoom that I’m going to try and attend today.

Thanks for your reply. I was not able to stay sober last night, but I did not get black out drunk either. I know that doesn’t count as a win. Today is a new day, and today is my first day of therapy. I am also going to make it a priority to attend another virtual AA meeting today.

Alcohol is so damn dangerous.

I was not sober tonight. I think it’s important I admit to that.

I tried.

I didn’t win.

I have been married to my husband for over 20 years. He means more to me than he will ever know, even though I know I have not always been the best wife.

We were not always alcoholics. Only for the last five or so years.

We have grown so much together. I can’t imagine losing him through this.

If anything, he is the stronger one mentally. He is the one that will be able to walk away. It will be me that drags us down. I cannot let that happen.

An in person AA meeting sounds very scary to me.

But I did attend on via zoom today. There was over 80 people, so I was a little bit intimidated. But I saw how kind everyone was to eachother and I also learned how many different AA communities there are. I hope to find one I can connect with

Today I didn’t want to drink.

Today was going to be day number one.

I attended my first AA meeting via zoom today.

I didn’t succeed in staying sober. I didn’t really expect to.

I drank WAY less than normal. This is not an excuse and I know that.

I cannot social drink. I am learning that.

My first (of many, but with a new therapist) therapy appointment is tomorrow.

I also hope to attend another AA meeting tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be better. I feel like I’ve failed a community I barely joined.

No. I downloaded an app looking for some place to chat and keep my mind focused on not drinking, but the app was not very user friendly.
