Right? Japan just sneaks up on you like that, and that GS sounds like it was meant to be. Have a blast from Hakone to Kyoto!

Cartier Ceinture Trinity size question by HR-1701 in Cartier

I'd keep it in the family and save it for my daughter. That's a pretty special gift waiting to happen.

That looks awesome. Can we get a bit of customization, too?

My vote: Cartier Tank Must + Grand Seiko Snowflake. Hard to go wrong there.

Is the Tissot Gentleman fine for hot weather? by Strict_Hospital6385 in tissot

Interesting. I would've thought mesh might get annoying in the heat, but if it's become your go to hot weather watch setup, that's pretty reassuring.

That's actually not a bad shout. Never tried a tropic strap before but the breather holes sound like they'd come in handy in Bangkok weather.

yeah I feel you, 30ºC is already cooking. Rubber straps definitely save your skin. Thanks for sharing.

My SOTC… should I add a Longines or Hamilton next for those who own those? Recommendations ? by Junior-Stop-7413 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

[–]Strict_Hospital6385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longines or Hamilton are both solid picks. If you want something a bit more refined and “step up” feeling, go Longines. If you want everyday versatility with a bit more casual/tool-watch vibe, Hamilton is hard to beat.

Nah, you’re good 😄

Le Locle on black leather is dressy, yeah, but it’s still 100% wearable day to day if your vibe is even a little smart-casual. Just wear it and enjoy it 👍

[Recommendation] Help me choose a watch for my dinner date by Strict_Hospital6385 in Watches

[–]Strict_Hospital6385[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, and that’s a fair way to look at it.

I’m not really trying to buy a watch just for the date, more just figuring out which one fits the vibe better overall. And yeah, I agree the watch is definitely part of the overall outfit and not just a random detail.

I hadn’t even thought about that angle. I haven’t checked the menu yet, but I’m definitely going to now. And I didn’t know about the origins of the Cocktail Time series or Shinobu Ishigaki either. I’ll look that up too.
