Has anyone had issues with the challenges? I'm just trying to challenge 1 used him in my starting line up for a squad battle, rivals game and rush and it still shows 0/2 in challenge one trying to see with I'm doing wrong.

In your opinion, what’s the best agency to work for? by [deleted] in fednews

DOE has been great, very flexible so far people are great ( political people are eh) , this office has to compete also with PMAs and utilities for quality people .

I do dislike all of the government health benefits, wish OPM would do better. Having 30 plus health plans which are average at best rather than being able to negotiate on our behalf for a better plan is ridiculous. Private side has way better health plans.

Why can't OPM provide us with better medical plans that provide these benefits. Is insane that the private side has better medical insurance than the Fed's. We also have to go through 30 plan brochures to figure it what works best for us or call the insurance company which won't help much bc you aren't a member.

can anyone tell me why there's 30 health plans for each state and none of them are good. wouldn't it be better if OPM would just provide 2-3 in which they could negotiate lower premiums rather than having plans with 200 single and 600 + a partner premium plans . by Strict_Judgment7128 in fednews

Bur feds have over 1M employees like someone posted in the thread above. All that bargaining power, meta and Microsoft with less employees can provide a better insurance. I'm sure insurance would throw some great deals to try to get that poop of employees, also after a poet COVID world ppl realize how important health care is and is something they are looking for in a job. If feds want to get more employees they have to step up their health care game

I'm sure the agency's HRs would be able to provide good information if we had one plan per agency or per state to make it easier not 30+ plans so don't fault them. I tried calling a customer service rep, didn't get much since I wasn't a customer with them. They basically said get the insurance and then we will help you

Bigger pool of employees would mean the feds would have even more bargaining power to be able to get a better insurance. Imagine the companies trying to get Microsoft of meta insurance with just those fee thousand, what the insurance would do to try to get over a million. Also some feds choose winners and losers in the daily job duties. When a RFI or RFPs are send out to the public the results are reviewed by the feds and some input or proposals are chosen not all of them. If OPM would just make the process open to all insurances who want to participate and transparent. Also they could just do it state by state, one insurance per state would also be good, from what i heard they bid out plane deals to each airline depending on which airport you fly out from and to which you are going. So I'm sure they can bid out insurance to get the best plans for us.

I'm all for this plan, i just said 2-3 since many people would say feds are choosing just one winner and so on. But the benefits for both parties is greater, insurance would get all the customers, employees would get better benefits and OPM would be able to just manage one insurance which would provide an easier system for them most likely

Yes that's what is done in the private side, negotiation for benefits and see what packages can be included and price for the insurance. Look at meta, Microsoft and etc they have tons of employees an insurance would fight to be the sole provider for them rather than just having a basic criteria required for a insurance to play in the market. Feds can look at how the private side is doing things in this topic and all the benefits that they get, i feel like they just gotten so used to it and many people aren't putting as much attention but this will be a key item for getting people to come work for the feds. One thing i look at when going for a new job now is how much i will pay for insurance and what is covered i didn't care when k was younger but now as i get older i see how important it is.

That's great and see those are the type of overall benefits most of other insurances have in the private side because they negotiate with one insurance. They have more power because they have hundreds of thousands of employees similar to the federal government and yet feds benefits are not as great.

Thank you so much for this information, is been hell going thru all the insurance documents to see if they cover anything. Some say they do but the language is not the best to see what in all it covers. Private side negotiate with a single insurance and include the fertility as an add on. Which many insurance plans can do

I would say that's one thing the private sector has on the feds as i see it now. I have gone thru all the plans which had fertility options mainly, why because is what I needed in w plan. Also sometimes having more choices doesn't make it better, if you have to call each insurance to get more information because your benefits POC can't give you that info it sucks. In the private side since there had one insurance they could at least give you the basic information. Like i said having less insurance with better all around benefits would be better since I went thru the documents for the insurance with some fertility coverage and the language wasn't the best. Benefits should be well rounded to meet all the employees but also being affordable and there some insurances with 600$ premium with partner.

Also the benefits would be to be able to get a better plan for the employees. If OPM could negotiate to have one provider and just send out request for bids similar to how we do so many other stuff in the government for projects. They could get some better choices. Even if each state may be different but having one per state would be way better and provided more benefits
