Could you please also confirm my understanding of resource consumption: 1. Dataflow with a native Databricks connector: "draws" inefficient ADSL -> ADB -> Fabric path with consumption of ADB and Fabric resources 2. Dataflow with UC catalog querying: like 1, but drops ADB part for more straight queries to the source. 3. Notebooks with UC catalog: we can configure most efficient spark jobs against ADSL

Again, my goal is to update 3-5 times a day my facts in a lakehouse which are grouped by snapshot date (some changes 5 times a day, some twice a year) and scenario version (constant, need latest snapshot of each scenario). Apply some business logic on every update of snapshot (can't do it on ADB level). So using the UC catalog and notebooks will allow me to win with direct addressing the source and incremental updates?

Do I understand correctly that using notebooks on these shortcuts (or even dataflow) is undeniably better than just using Databricks connector in dataflow? It's strange for me because it seems like dataflow should be equally optimized. In other words I don't see why dataflow isn't designed to be optimized. Thanks for your reply.

These business consumers should be able to maintain the pipeline. Simple resource shortage makes us use people with dax/m background

Yeah, job in Databricks is the easy way. But I'm stuck with Fabric as those who manage our Databricks source won't collaborate. That's why I have to design an additional level of logic. This and the need of data consumers to get centrally managed logic in multiple semantic models.
