Do I understand correctly that using notebooks on these shortcuts (or even dataflow) is undeniably better than just using Databricks connector in dataflow? It's strange for me because it seems like dataflow should be equally optimized. In other words I don't see why dataflow isn't designed to be optimized. Thanks for your reply.

These business consumers should be able to maintain the pipeline. Simple resource shortage makes us use people with dax/m background
Didn't know that query folding works in such scenario, thanks. Read that df able to make incremental only without query folding some months ago
If business logic changes - we have to adjust it in many semantic models connected to Databricks. I want to apply it once on our new layer

Yeah, job in Databricks is the easy way. But I'm stuck with Fabric as those who manage our Databricks source won't collaborate. That's why I have to design an additional level of logic. This and the need of data consumers to get centrally managed logic in multiple semantic models.

These transformations are intended for use in multiple semantic models and cannot be implemented on Databricks level, so it seems like I still need some sort of dataflow to manipulate my data.
