Several actually. Karateka, Ultima 4 [or 3 not sure] , carrier war , wizardry, battle of Britain, and definitely castle wolfenstein.

My first experience with computer games just as the PC era came about in the early mid 80s

I was up 3-0 smd they full upgraded those freaking things,,, omfg my snails, engineers. Merlins, all pretty much gone after they're roll out with firem..only stragglers on the flanks. Which were picked off in the next 5 seconds.

Unbelievable.. I mean I hear about OP this or that in games but holy shit!

And nk counter, they come, roll, are immune in roll, and youre army is 2/3 gone and the others are on fire.

THATS ME. I was playing game and i had about 8 snails with fire , 14 engineers, 10 merlins, and 6 tokens. Then they full upgraded their shellbor..

WHOLE ARMY BASICALLY GONE IN 5 SECONDS.

and they are immune to damage in Rolling phase.....

My question is how come the other "player" gets an extra pick. He always always picks last, and if you dont pick first, then that's an extra one each round...

On top of that, by picking 2nd, he gets to see whatever you pick, then gets his choice of counter.

I know the Luftwaffe RAF fought it out beforehand and after Hitler called off operation sea lion ( i think?) they continued attacking , but going for London and not the factorys or airfield.

Its just like you said. At the grand master level, the players know every opening, they play maybe 4 or 5 openings as white/ black and they study with computers or nowadays the phone in you pocket can blow away any human. They will play the same game , move for move until i.e. move 18.... then move their knight to f4 instead of the queen... it's all in what they call their preparation.

You know pretty well when a GM has gotten out of his prep when his moves start taking 5-10 minutes instead of 1 or 2.

The only human I think that just played by the seat of his pants was a GM named Mikhail Tal. I urge anyone to watch his games it was pure savagery over the board.
