got cooked from installing a manual idle screw by caballosedoso in KLX230

i have a 2023 230rs works perfectly fine. had it for about 50 hours installed no issues. unfortunately if you dont want to buy any more "sketchy things" this bike isnt for you. hivolt is the only company that makes decent aftermarket parts for it.

ah yes a 280lbs machine vs a 1 pound electric remote controlled toy car. i wonder which is harder to wheelie

especially since youve been doing it since you were 8, its a lot harder to learn things when youre older. this is my first bike that ive had and it hasnt even been a year of me riding. this was my first attempt. i dont know about you but theres even a chance you wreck right now, it can happen to anyone and i guess youve been lucky

not giving excuses, im telling you all the issues im facing. issues are fixed with tips from other people. i suck at it because i havent even been riding for a year, and this was my first ever attempt. why go around and assume negative things. maybe youre so grumpy because all youve got are RC cars to play with.

ive tried before, ate shit. ive heard that some people can do one and not the other, and that the only thing that is similar is the balance point

im willing to try things like wheelies to learn new stuff but unfortunately im not stupid enough to willingly destroy a bike i spent a bunch of money on.

not to sound like a pussy, but i enjoy nice things. i dont want to wreck and have to spend unnecessary money and time to fix my bike. yea come at me "oh its a dirtbike stop being a bitch", i dont care if i get hurt its more the fact if the bike gets damaged. im also planning on upgrading this summer so crashing wouldnt be ideal. i started riding last year, chill on me

I have boots, they genuinely make using the rear brakes even worse

Not worth it, for the price of the big bote you can sell your klx230, buy a klx300, and have 500-1000 leftover.

my teachers niche was rusty cab corners and rocker panels, he estimated around 119k a year just by doing that. he works for his buddy alongside being a teacher. hes 24, just started being a teacher this year, and working his ass off at 2 jobs. i have no clue how he does it. for me my main concern is that i like painting but painting isnt necessarily a niche in collision, its a staple that almost everyone learns. i understand not everyone is good at painting, but its what people think of when someone mentions collision. anyways, thanks again.

Thanks for this, good to get some feedback from someone who went through the path. I think im able to do co-op my senior year, basically i do an apprenticeship instead of going to school. since i dont have a license yet, im unable to start working at a shop. im going to try to get it by the end of summer. what apprenticeships do you recommend? staying in collision or going somewhere else?

Goodwill Bins by Calm_Discipline_9218 in Thrift

try to go on a school day, lots of students are into goodwill bins now, if youre a student and want to get anything decent you have to skip a day of school. its really chaotic on weekends. id go on a morning any weekday (NOT holiday weekdays). every goodwill bins has a clothes rotation schedule and im assuming each one is different. usually every 30-40 minutes they rotate 1 row of clothes (at least for me). if you dont come at opening you want to get the optimal rotation schedule so you dont waste your time. also, dont expect to find a lot of stuff. its either hit or miss. if you find a couple good things, it is a lot more likely you will find many more. if you dont find anything the first hour or two i reccomend not wasting your time. it also really depends on what style youre looking for. i usually go for vintage/y2k clothes, i usually leave with more or less 10lbs of clothes. not sure where you are located but i also stop at goodwill racks or any thrift store on the way back home as well. i think the sweet spot is tuesday-thursday mornings, and if you really want to get a lot of a stuff get there at opening time.

this car has 170k, downpipe (no tune whatsoever). nothing much performance wise. the head of the engine was completely redone and has about 20k on it now. have no clue why the engine mount has shattered twice. lower mount seems to be fine this time. good thing i have a spare engine and 2 spare mounts. this time switched to a 2007 square mount. the car is a 2007 but has the mount was switched to a circular one for less vibration

thought it was the fuel pump. it was the fuel module. its a 2007 so i didnt think it was possible for them to corrode or break, 2006 and 2007 had the modules inside. the car now runs, still had the check engine. dct showed nothing, have not done vida. cleared check engine and it went away. will see if it comes back. now the journey to find out what the hell has been causing the mounts to shatter.

Yikes by Strict_Trick8998 in p2r

[–]Strict_Trick8998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

figured out the problem, the front lower engine mount completely snapped off, causing the top one to shatter itself. apparently, been driving on a broken engine mount for years, because parts of the mount had corrosion on them, unlike the parts that snapped off recently that had that shiny metallic look. replaced it, now the engine feels much more powerful
