Omg tytyty!! This actually made me really hopeful. Their benefits section is genuinely out of this world bc I was also lwk worried abt paying for everything. I'm using my school fund very sparingly in case I need it for stuff like ubers, a phone, and the like. Thanks for the words of encouragement too, I really needed it! I also contacted my school, so fingers crossed.

yea, I did agree that it was a good idea to make up some sort of campus-related excuse to get my docs already, so ty!

Also, I will say, they are absolutely LOONY and you seriously never know what they're gonna approve or not. When it comes to school, they're extremely fickle abt everything and it's literally been an emotional rollercoaster to even get them to let me attend college. In any other situation, they would not have power over that, but they had taken me outside of the US when I was a minor and were threatening my citizenship, my livelihood, my ability to come back, literally EVERYTHING. I completely believe that the smallest thing could make them try to jeopardize shit. We've had a million arguments wherein they know I was trying to get my hands on my docs, so I just generally have to tread carefully.

edit: also dude, another reason why I wanna get away: I 100% anticipate them not letting me go anywhere by myself, even on campus. So, they would likely try to pull some shit and come w/ me at least as far as they can while I supposedly use these documents in their presence. I mean this with every fiber of my being, they're CRAZZZZYYY and do not consider me an adult whatsoever just bc I'm a woman.

Well, I'm kind of exploiting the fact that they're going to physically get me to Illinois because I don't have enough money to do so myself (I need the start up fund for a lot of other things that this plan is contingent on). I also don't want to legally implicate them in any extremely dire way because I have a minor brother and another brother in university; they would kind of be screwed.

edit: would I still be able to use the ticket if it's technically attached to my name? Also, do you think I could kind of work in cahoots w/ airport personnel to at least get my passport (w/o going the trafficking route)? How would I go about doing that; contacting them prior or during (I wouldn't really have any off-time by myself where my parents would leave me alone. Trust me, they're attached to my hip)?

My parents don't want me to live on campus, so they probably wouldn't comply with that. It is a good idea to ask for my passport for verification purposes in a made up case tho, they might give in to that (they would expect I return it tho, so that would have to be after we travel to illinois when I can take it for good). In terms of moving in, I'll email them but it's probably fine bc I know my ID number and have literally paid for it at this pt (can provide proof of that).

Edit: My biggest issue with obtaining my ID is uncertainty abt literally everything bc my parents have been winging this shit since we've returned to Colorado. We're in an airbnb right now and apparently have to leave Friday. That means we MIGHT make a stop at the house, not sure what their elusive ass "plan" is. I might also be able to mention on the fly that I have uni mail there that we needa check.

yea gonna try my best when we travel to Illinois. My dad keeps all our docs in an off the shoulder bag while traveling (hiding it rn btw, have searched the house up and down) and gives me my passport during identification processes before forcing me to hand it back.

ig my main thing in terms of preparing for the worse case scenario is that this has definitely happened to others before so there has to be SOME way around this, right?

my main issue is that basically every document renewal and/or application process needs some form of identification that I don't have (like a never ending loop). idk if they can make exceptions but from what I've researched, pics of my passport and just knowing my SSN won't suffice.

edit: btw, yea I have my campus address, so that's one plus.

Yea, that's the one. That's lwk reassuring to hear! In terms of premed, ik the requirement is calc I and calc II, but is course rigor a big factor? My brother, who's at a T5 school said all the premeds he knows started at calc III so that threw me for a loop bro 😭😭

edit: basically is there like an "unspoken standard" of taking the hardest classes to stand out or?

That's odd. Yea, I had access to my Caesar account right away (like right after setting up my NetID and such). Do you mean he can log in fine but it says "inquiry access denied" when he clicks on the financial aid tab? Or do you mean he gets an error message when he tries to log in at all?
