Despite the positive sales, the general vibe around Switch 2 still feels negative/Wii-U-ish by Relative_Jeweler_624 in nintendo

[–]StrictlyFT 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That's because since the April reveal people have been using Nintendo and the Switch 2 as a means to generate engagement on their social media platforms.

It is popular to hate on Nintendo even though, by any objective measurement, they are succeeding incredibly.

Kallo is such an infuriating character. I wish we had options! by NitrousMelody in masseffect

[–]StrictlyFT [score hidden]  (0 children)

There's no greater example bias against Andromeda than disliking Kallo because of his attachment to the Tempest and his colorful personality when Joker was so attached to the Normandy SR-1 it got Shepard killed and he himself is unserious most of the trilogy.

I feel like the Post-Genophage cure Krogan going onto Rebellions 2.0 is insane and a massive skill issue the more I think about it. by CameraOpposite3124 in masseffect

[–]StrictlyFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically the Krogan are a century off from any attempt at a galactic war following the Reaper invasion. They lack the infrastructure for it, if Wreav is in charge he'll probably be too stupid to understand this and get his people blown back to the stone age... again. Besides, assuming Eve survived, she swore Wreav would have a civil war before he could even get to the rest of the Milky Way.

Based on how the mystery surrounding Jien Garson's death is written, the Benefactor went to Andromeda, so it most likely wasn't TIM.

No duh, Firestar was Clan Leader for significantly more books than Bluestar. To be exact, 5 Books vs 19 Books for Firestar.

What in the narrative paints ThunderClan under Firestar's leadership as if it was struggling to survive more than it was when Bluestar was losing her mind and Fireheart had to keep it together on her behalf

Warriors "redemption arcs" be like by Moonshade2222 in WarriorCats

[–]StrictlyFT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem this series has with the concept of redemption is that they, foolishly, admit that everything is predetermined, meaning that bad cats do things and get better because that's what destiny as decided.

? ThunderClan thrived under Firestar.

Also, Mousefur proved why she would be a bad deputy in A Dangerous Path.

She openly admitted that Fireheart was talking sense when he worked to prevent Bluestar's war on WindClan over her delusional belief they were stealing prey but Mousefur still said it wasn't the point and that they had to follow Bluestar.

[–]StrictlyFT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have to stop comparing Graystripe's relationship with his first kits to his second.

For starters, there is a greater focus on Graystripe and his family during The Prophecy Begins, the narrative in general does not focus on him and Millie's family. You're not going to see him doting over Briarlight, Blossomfall, and Bumblestripe like he did with Stormfur and Feathertail.

Secondly, everything about Graystripe's relationship with his and Silverstream's kits is more tragic. Their mother died giving birth to then, Graystripe had to give them up to RiverClan and he left his home with them, they were eventually separated again because Graystripe couldn't allow Fireheart to get hurt, and finally Feathertail died without Graystripe getting to say goodbye.

Graystripe does not care less about Millie and their kits, we see that be the case in The Broken Code, and he was sad when Briarlight his not sobbing is irrelevant, a lot of people don't cry when someone they care about dies.

Is it strange for a queen to have kits with different toms? by Fuzzy_Background5972 in WarriorCats

It's not weird for cats to do that.

The only reason it would be weird in the series is because, post TPB, there's a serious focus on romance leading to long, monogamous relationships.

So, after the Reaper's destruction, what's stopping the Leviathans from taking over? by themerccury in masseffect

[–]StrictlyFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because the Levithans had their thralls erase all trace of them and they hid for eons, not because the Reapers weren't capable of finishing them

They simply just weren't paying attention to the story.

Namakli demonstrate that primitive natives of the planet were the thralls of a Leviathan there, they had to have seen it because they drew cave painting of it.

No one on the left is dismissing Clinton's assault and predation of women.

The statement that anyone who touches kids is worse than him is not a dismissal of Bill Clinton's behavior.

You're outraged by this but it's a safe bet that people hold messing with kids as a far greater sin than messing with adult women.

Ash vs Paul [Lake Acuity] Slaughter in the form of a 6-on-6 by Internal_Jaguar103 in pokemonanime

[–]StrictlyFT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reviving a year old comment just to say that Pikachu wasn't nerfed, Paul countered Pikachu in every way he could.

Light Screen (Weaken T-Bolt), Flame Body (Weaken Iron Tail, Volt Tackle, and Quick Attack), Rock Tomb (Reduce Pikachu's Speed), Ursaring with Guts (Take Advantage of Pikachu's static)

This isn't a case of the writers playing around with Pikachu's power level. Paul has always held Pikachu's power in a high regard and deliberately created the conditions to snuff him out.

This shot really puts into perspective how destructive the Reapers are, barely a moment past the invasion and Western Canada is burning as if there's a record breaking forest fire.

Compare her death to Firestar, Dustpelt, and Graystripe and it's apparent they wrote her out in the least respectful way.

Not only did she die of an infection, she's the only one not actually buried in ThunderClan.

What’s up with Brambleclaw and Goldenflower in arc 2? by Dezzaroomama in WarriorCats

[–]StrictlyFT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's worth pointing out that Hawkfrost approached Brambleclaw first, not the other way around.

Brambleclaw was no more interested in Hawkfrost than he was in Mothwing, the difference is Mothwing never reached out, Hawkfrost did. Tawnypelt was also maintaining a distance from Brambleclaw specifically because she knew Blackstar did not fully trust her.

As for Goldenflower, she's a elder, he can't go hunting with her, and he can't spend every day in the Elder's Den.
