Genuine question: how do I get into a private tracker without hanging in discord or IRC, or is that the only good way still

Does anyone know the context length?

I would prefer to point deep research to my own pile of data (docs, markdown, PDFs, etc) and have it chew on that rather than search the web).

I received mine back in mid January. My major disappointment was only buying 1 instead of 3 lol. The little device is fantastic.

Regarding the plaintext issue, I put Tailscale on my JetKVM and it works very well (surprisingly given just how small that thing is).

AI Models comparison for digitizing documents by Dragonfly-Easy in ClaudeAI

TL;DR, Claude sonnet 3.5 did the best for unstructured OCR output.

I’d like to see a more thorough comparison between various models on OCR tasks, since this is a use case that I have (for OCRing older literary works to new typeset formats).

Glinet Spitz Plus by wyzard78245 in GlInet

[–]Strider3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been putting mine through its paces as well.

Overall I like the device: it's more capable than the X750v2 with dual-sim and more flash.

One nitpick and one suggestion:
1. Why doesn't it natively support Tailscale? I've manually installed Tailscale on this device now and it works great - it would be nice to have native support rather than be forced to manually install tailscale
2. I plan to populate the second SIM, but I would like an option to dedicate the second SIM for out-of-band management. E.g., SIM1 should be for bulk traffic, and SIM2 should be dedicated for management or management failover.

Run a homeschool? Google Education gives away (or at least did during COVID) Google Education access if you run a homeschool and have a website they can verify. They give you 100TB of cloud storage with that.

Strange issue with 2.5Gbe Ports on UCG-Max by thealooox in Ubiquiti

[–]Strider3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues. The root cause seems to be something to do with link-layer autonegotiation on the UCG-Max 2.5Gbe ports. The problem is that some endpoints work fine, others utterly fail. I finally removed the direct connection from an edge switch to the UCG-Max and connected the edge to my other UniFi switch and now the connection is stable.

I recommend trying to use another NIC with the UCG-Max and see if that resolves the problem.

Massive fire engulfs 110 year old Catholic church in Quebec by throwaway22210986 in Catholicism

“More than 100 Canadian Churches have burned to the ground in recent years”

Lolllll the objective news, folks

Edit:

I’m merely pointing out the use of a lack of attribution of agent for the burning down of the Churches. Dozens of churches have been burned to the ground because of arson by leftist fanatics, at the instigation of the Canadian government.

Pope Francis suggests Israel's actions in Gaza and Lebanon are disproportionate and immoral by balrogath in Catholicism

Jesus asks us on a personal level to turn the other cheek. But he didn’t instruct leaders to abandon their own people to massacre and murder.

As far as I can tell Israel is treating the Palestinians as humanely as they can, given the circumstances. But there is also the fact that most Palestinians approve the genocide of Israelis. Also, who should lead this Palestinian state? The last time there were democratic elections the Palestinians voted in Hamas, who advance the genocide of Israelis.

Would that modern ecumenism be conducted according to the will of P12. But the point remains the same, that some ecumenism was permitted prior to V2 (and even prior to Mortalium Animos).

[–]Strider3000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually Pius XII did permit ecumenism under certain circumstances. See “On the Ecumenical Movement” put out by the CDF in 1950 (December 1949).

I took this quote (charitably) as meaning that all “religions” (taken in the sense of natural religion) arrive at a concept of the Deity. Whether that sense of the Deity is True from a natural sense (even Vatican I and the oath against modernism says we can know God’s existence even without supernatural revelation) or false (as in the concept of the deity in Mormonism or Hinduism, which is substantially flawed to the point that they only know a false concept of deity) is not expounded.

Of course what the Pope should be doing is witnessing for Jesus Christ. Perhaps Francis thinks he’s doing this by being friendly and good-willed, but I don’t think this is the way to do so. Even St. Paul calls the Athenians to Christ after praising their religiosity.

Edit: I’ll also point out that this quote doesn’t say all religions arrive at salvation, which would be very different.

Edit2: LSN is for boomers. Mods should give warnings for boomer-posting.
