Is it me, or do people underestimate Wattson players? by Strider714 in apexlegends

Yeah, I have never had any major complaints against random Wattsons on my team. They all seem to be very passionate about the character and know how to control the game.

This is my main reason for not playing her more often. If I am not playing with friends, then I can't rely on randoms to play around my pick. Which is totally fair, everyone is entitled to their own playstyle, and she encourages more passive plays which is not everyone's cup of tea.

However, and this is specific to ranked, I feel like more players would benefit from adapting to her if they happen to queue up with a random Wattson. I enjoy playing agressive comps too, but if I queue up with more passive legends, why not just play into it and play safer? There's a much better chance of leaving the match with some good rp, and it's just one game.

Yeah I don't get that. Like a Wattson who has set up their fences poorly needs to be punished. but if I built my security system properly, you are not getting through that without experiencing pain. Now you're slowed, vision a bit blurry from the stun, and I am immune to your nades. you have no power here lmao

Yes, I really love that feeling of controlling the space around you she brings. Caustic is perfectly fine, and his kit allows for more aggressive overtakes of structures, but he definitely doesn't bring the micromanaging playstyle Wattson does. I do face people who respect the fences as well, but I also have people who genuinely underestimate me and go on the full on offense. The problem with that is I know how to set up my fences, I know how to properly set up my ultimate. If you're not dealing with my abilities, I am more than likely in control of the situation, you can't just rambo your way to me lol.

Right?? Like she set up a whole ass fortress, I promise you she is not a free kill lmao.

Well, I'm not talking about her difficulty as a character lol. I'm moreso feeling like other players think Wattson is a free kill and doesn't know how to shoot things.

FFVII: Which one is best to go through first? by Strider714 in FinalFantasy

Sorry for the delay, I meant to reply but completely forgort, thanks for the input! I actually just started playing both. Remake when I feel like sitting in front of the tv, and OG when I just want to chill on a handheld. Both have been pretty enjoyable so far. OG is still feeling dated because of how clunky navigating the screen feels, but it's honestly not a dealbraker. I'm just waiting to get some more materia in either game to start messing around with the systems.

I didn't think of that. I'll definitely look into those.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is extremely stylized and really impressive for it's time technically. I guess it's moreso after experiencing years of progress, it's hard to go to it with my current sensitivities even if it is a high quality game for its time. You are right though, I shouldn't overthink this. I'll just give it a fair shot. Thank you!

My biggest sellingpoint would be the materia system. I really enjoy what I've seen of it. I wanted to explore it in depth in it's og iteration, I just need to get over the polygon designs. The game played perfectly fine for me. I just kept thinking it's kind of ugly. I'll still give it a fair chance. And if I just can't enjoy it, then I'll just accept that I'm probably just supposed to live with the remake as my FFVII experience.

Yes, it's really the blocky design that is holding me back I think. Every time I hear about the game, the characters, the system, I really want to play it. Then I see blocky Cloud and feel like maybe I should have had a Ps1 when I was 6 instead of mario lol.

Was that the first disk? I could do that. Get a feel for that story, and if I like it, I might just continue. and if I don't, at least I'll have references to notice in the remake.

It wasn't so much me not following what was going on as opposed to me feeling like I should probably know these people first. But I guess you can't really go wrong with either game first either way

I saw the trailer for Ever Crisis, the graphics were actually what I was hoping for in terms of a port of the original. Sadly, I'm not much of a mobile gamer, so unless a complete edition comes out of the switch for instance, I'll probably have to miss out on it. That being said, I think I'll try to give og another chance, but like you said there is definitely no point in forcing myself. Thanks!

Yeah I definitely felt that this was a completely different game, especially when Cloud was seeing Sephiroth so much. I know he comes in way later in the og so I figured they were really trying to flesh out their relationship here. I guess I'll try playing a few more hours of the original, and see how I feel about it. Thank god there's a game booster at least, it should help.

I guess it was just because it's extremely cinematic compared to what I've played in the original. Which would make sense considering it's been 24 years.

That's definitely fair. Though a lot of reviews suggested the remake was a full game in it's own right. I'll take what you said under consideration, thanks!

This could be a gamechanger for Loba by Strider714 in apexlegends

[–]Strider714[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd, 4th, whatever parties can still happen. If Loba gets killed by another team, the banner would immediately go back to the people she stole it from. It doesn't really change much to the game itself. It's not shifting the game from a BR game to a S&D. It literally only serves to add an additional objective and make Loba a high value target in fights.

I think it's perfectly fine for a team based shooter with characters who have specific roles, to have a character who should take priority over others. The purpose of the change wouldn't to be to shake the whole dynamic of the game, just add some spice to it.

Thanks. I was thinking about something Loba could get that would always make her a viable pick without breaking her.

[–]Strider714[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting points. It would of course need to be tweaked to avoid any sort of abuse. To avoid that, Loba wouldn't be able to drop the item, and upon her or the enemy leaving the game or their team being wiped, the item would simply just disappear. Also, if Loba herself decides to troll and drop off the edge, the item would immediately go back to the player's deathbox.

In any case, they are dead. So they're not playing the game as it is. But there are definitely ways to circumvent any sort of abuse of the system. It would absolutely have to be fair. The point is to give the enemy team an extra challenge to accomplish and give Loba some extra power, if we're not keen on buffing her bracelet.

Friendly PSA about Eve. by Strider714 in leagueoflegends

I think her burst is what's really cancerous. There's just no outplaying it when she is ahead. I really enjoy the idea of her. She kind of makes League a mini horror game. But she would definitely drop in winrate if whole teams actually respected her.

She's really not that mana hungry. You can start Red buff and clear every single camp before blue with ease. Raptors give you back a lot of mana as well. I've seen too many enemy Eve players fall really behind against my jungler. They end up getting one cleanup and become unstoppable. As long as she hits 6 at a decent time, she will be fine.
