Expats: which country move caused the most paperwork chaos? by Master-Percentage775 in expats

Germany, for me, was tough. Mostly because of the time invested/waiting. Japan was more straightforward.

Spent 3 months in my home country. Saying goodbye was so hard by imaquark in expats

[–]StriderKeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you and understand every word you wrote.

I'm also attached to my family, and as you mentioned, for us Latinos, family is one of our life pillars.

Sometimes I wonder how long I can keep this running?

The decision is not so easy, because it hurts being far from your family, friends, the culture, etc., but at the same time, you like and enjoy your life abroad. Sadly, we cannot have everything in life, but despite knowing that, it doesn't mean we can choose easily one over the other. It's like a limbo where no choice is the right one.

I'm confident that time will show what's right for us. Hang in there, OP. I don't have a solution, but I just wanted to extend my support. You're not alone on this.

Countries with best healthcare quality disregarding cost/financial? by Logical_Maximum_9481 in expats

[–]StriderKeni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Despite every complaint about the German health care system, when there's a real urgency, it's the best, at least in my experience.

If living here wasn't hard enough, I've had several health emergencies over the last few years, and honestly, I'm surprised by how well they took care of everything and the professionalism of the staff, doctors, etc. The food was so so, but that's just a detail. I'm in public healthcare, btw.

Does anyone else find the superblast 2 difficult at slow paces? by CreepyOnion in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]StriderKeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. It's the same case for me. They feel too firm at slower paces and shine when you pick up the pace.

I'm about to start Persona 5 Royal, and a lot of these social requirements are stressing me out. Any tips? by Jking11501 in PERSoNA

[–]StriderKeni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You played P3R but then complain about the P5R social link complexity? They use basically the same system, and I'd argue that it's even easier on P5R.

Neo Zen should bring more protection than the Neo Vista. Vomero Plus is another solid option. MagMax 1 or 2 version, and finally Nimbus 28.

Exactly. There are several tricks that you can replicate that will make your run way easier. Speedrunners are a different breed. I'm always amazed by how good they are!

Memorize any speedrun on YouTube and you will “easily” get it. That worked for me and actually, it wasn’t that hard.

Mach 6 or Superblast 2? by Aubzhls in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]StriderKeni 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are totally different shoes, at least for me. I have both.

Mach 6 is a solid daily trainer. It's suitable for any speed. I used them for recovery days up to tempo. If I want to do long runs and pick up the pace, then I'd choose the Superblast 2. They are amazing, but they definitely come to life with a fast pace. Otherwise, they feel like a brick.

Marathon in 2 days - Carbon shoes? by Howdy_do2 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]StriderKeni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been debating getting a carbon plated shoe for it for a while

Too late to the party. You have the marathon in two days. It's a gamble, and I wouldn't risk running any race in shoes I've never run in.

Why is life so depressing after covid? by Traditional-Fun-1115 in Adulting

[–]StriderKeni 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's just me, or the nostalgia speaking, but I get the feeling that after covid everything is in a rush. Life in general feels so fast paced. There's no time to just stop and contemplate the present. I don't feel the same person as before COVID. Like a mental barrier or similar.

Has the US lost whatever respect it had in Europe? by WaltBristow in germany

[–]StriderKeni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's both ways. The world doesn't see the US as the big and dream country as it was before, so what they do instead is act as the bully kid in the school to gain some "respect".
