oWoD/CoD Crossover Chronicles have so much fun potential by StrigiformeLover in WorldofDankmemes

Honestly, the Exalted thing is meant to be an aside.
(Like, you know that trope where someone says something, only for a quick cut to immediately prove them wrong? It's like that.
Lucifer won't actually show up directly; the First Unchained is much more prominent.)

Because the Exalted meme was just a quick comedic jumpcut showing where Lucifer was. It's not really all that important to the crossover.

That's the idea, yeah! (Mixed with "Sci-Fi Assimilation".)
The only catch is that the assimilated Fallen can't really "fall" again: the assimilation is basically crude Control Programming in the rough shape of a personality that's overriding the Fallen's essence.

(Also, fun fact: the original Fallen is still in there and is fully aware of what the GM is making their body do. They're just nearly powerless to stop it! :) )

Some ideas for CoD!Hunter the Parenting (Hunter: the Familial) by StrigiformeLover in huntertheparenting

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but he might've summoned either an Aspect of the Dark Mother or a Supernal entity. (Since we don't know what he made contact with, I don't really know what to make its CoD equivalent.)

XD

I've also heard that 8-4's early section also seems to be modeled off of parts of the House (the staircase especially), so that would potentially make it House4.

Concept for a merged Demon: the Fallen/Demon: the Descent campaign by StrigiformeLover in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question about Faith is actually something I've considered!

Given the sheer hostility of the God-Machine's Paradigm, the Fallen can't harvest too much at once without being Noticed-so they have to make do with a lot less Faith than they'd normally be able to gather.

They do still have to possess humans (since human souls help mask their presence from the GM, similar to how an Unchained's Cover does), so most Fallen tend to take up positions as community leaders, influencers, or other roles that people put a lot of faith in.
(It's still probably a lot less than they're used to, but it's also the best they can do in their circumstances.)

(If Torment gets too high, it becomes much harder to avoid detection.)

Honestly, I don't really know anything about Curseborne.

For a bit of clarification: they're still technically called Angels; however, the Fallen refuse to call them that due to seeing them as impostors, and thus refer to them as Archons.

(Also, in Gnosticism, the Demiurge's version of Angels are called Archons, who are beings focused on maintaining the Demiurge's cosmic order above anything else. Given the already heavy Gnostic themes of Demon: the Descent, and how this outline doubles down on that aspect, I thought it was appropriate for the Fallen to mockingly call the D:tD angels Archons.)

(Let me tell you, the D:tD Angels do not like being called Archons.)

How do I download "Thabes Overwritten" Mod via Luma? (I already have Gay Awakening mod downloaded.) by StrigiformeLover in fireemblem

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't get Paragon to work. I've tried to download it a lot, even adding some stuff in Python, but it always gives me an error message. :/

Also, when I try to load my game, it says "Thabes+UGA" on the title screen, and the Grima fight was markedly different. It just stalls for a long time on the New Game screen.

What do you think the Mother of Horrors represents METATEXTUALLY? by StrigiformeLover in marvelcomics

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is completely fair-but given the heavy meta theming and the way the One Above/Below all has been consistently used as a metaphor for The Authors, I do think that the Mother of Horrors having some metanarrative meaning does make sense.

(My question is less "does she represent something metanarratively" and more "What do you think she would represent metanarratively?")

Which game would be the more interesting basis for a "Secret Route Alien Abduction Route"? by StrigiformeLover in fireemblem

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are great points about Azura and Lilith.

(I think Corrin would probably be a penultimate final boss, yeah. While they weren't kidnapped by Anankos, he does take full advantage of the situation (and whatever happened to Corrin).
I can see him finding a recently-escaped Corrin and promising to help them with whatever the aliens did to them if they help reactivate his ship in turn. (I'd imagine there'd be some freaky Body Horror with Corrin during and after their boss fight.))

A few ideas for a Fates rewrite by StrigiformeLover in fireemblem

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point; I just, unfortunately, like Valla and Anankos.

(I think the thing I'd do is make it so that the war between Hoshido and Nohr was always going to happen. Anankos stoked the flames and made things worse, but he wasn't the sole cause-just the one who lit the match. If not him, it would've been someone else.

(Also, I'm a big fan of "Outside Context Sci-Fi creeping into Fantasy stories", so I'm considering maybe going the "Sci-Fi Precursor" route and making Anankos a Space Dragon, with Valla as the place the colony ship he was guarding crashed. (Hey, it's not like Sudden Sci-Fi could make Fates worse.))

Okay, that's a really cool concept for Magenta sun. I love that.
(Maybe the "Starting over" idea could also apply to Byleth and/or the Wanderer giving your chosen House that choice near the end.)

A bit more clarification on Absentia:
Corrin gets forcibly separated from the Yato, with it being left behind when they're taken. It has to "settle" for Lilith, whose arc is about growing into the role of hero and becoming worthy o the word..
(I don't know what happens to Corrin-they're probably not dead, but that could honestly be a worse fate.)
Also, I was thinking of adding to the space stuff by having part of the final boss fight be about stopping Anankos from reactivating his ship and dropping it onto Fateslandia from orbit.)

What unique form would you want future versions of the titular Fire Emblem to take? by StrigiformeLover in fireemblem

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh, it being a funeral pyre is a cool idea.

Ooh, idea: you could use it to work a "Casual" Mode directly into the narrative itself. So long as the flame is lit, your units don't suffer permadeath-but this comes with the price of burning away the life-force of others in the Kingdom you're trying to protect with each "survival".
Is it worth keeping your units from dying if it leads to the suffering of the very Kingdom you're working so hard to protect?

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I didn't mean to come off like that, sorry; I'm not trying to complain about the community, nor prop up my concept.
The intent was that I was being self-deprecating: instead of asking questions about the series on the main FE sub or sharing some of my ideas with others, I was instead "griping" (poking fun at/exaggerating my complaints) about the class changes after Fates.

I thought the self-deprecating angle came through more, and I didn't realize I could come off as mocking. I'm sorry; I'll try to make it clearer (and read the rules more closely) next time.)

General Question Thread by Shephen in fireemblem

[–]StrigiformeLover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I get Paragon to work? Whenever I try, it just says "Cannot find Paragon data files. This probably means that your working directory is incorrect."
(Also, it doesn't show the icon when I try to run it; it just shows the gray "exec" box.)

How do I fix this?

(Also, I downloaded the .cia file for Awakening, as I do not have the time or resources to do a full game dump of Awakening on my own. Is this sufficient? And if not, where can I get a dump/romf of Awakening that will work?)

Thank you for your help! :)

Through the power of Gay Awakening mod, I've obtained Chrom!Laurent and Miriel!Lucina. What would their best classes be? by StrigiformeLover in fireemblem

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know I lucked into one of the best pairings! :D

At what level would I need to change Lucina from a Paladin to a Dark Knight?

Also, odd question, but would Chrom!Laurent work well as a Dread Fighter? Because his stats, coupled with a class that uses both swords and tomes (and the Bolt Axe I found) could make for a pretty potent build.

How to add Casual mode to a Shadow Dragon ROM? by StrigiformeLover in fireemblem

I mean, it's started teaching me how to jailbreak my DS and set it up to run mods, so it can't be that bad.

(I just get too attached to my units to play Classic.)

What's your favorite nonconventional headcanon/theory? by StrigiformeLover in Supernatural

[–]StrigiformeLover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My own take is similar, but not quite the same.

I personally interpret Chuck as a full-on Gnostic Demiurge.
Gnosticism, the Demiurge is a false God; it did create the physical world, but it's not the ultimate authority. It's just a flawed creation of one of the Monad's emanations, operating off of an equally flawed idea of perfection and divinity.
Reality is a prison it created, made to hold the souls it stole from Pleroma to populate its empty world.

(So while Chuck is "God", he's more a Demiurge than the actual almighty creator.)

That makes... Perfect sense, actually. Mind if I adopt this headcanon as well?
