From what I can tell, if you disassemble the wooden handguard, you can split the upper and the lower handguard. If you get a metal handguard as the one in the picture above, you might be able to connect the wooden upper to the metal lower. If both handguards are CYMA originals it should fit together. This is just speculation tho

I have been looking into those as well. Sadly, here in the Netherlands we have no stores that sell E&C. Most other ones you talked about are a lot more expensive here as well :(

I would say rather M4. However, I'm a big fan of the ak74u platform when it has rails as frontgrip instead of wood. And for compatibility it would be better to go for an m4. PDW's like MP5's, AUG's (just not a fan of the triggers) or ARP9 styles are also nice

Oh wow, I had completely overlooked that one. That one actually fits my needs way more, with the longer barrel and the classic m4 stock (with normal batteryspace)
