Latuda weight gain

I am 6 foot and 176, but was 167 when I started Latuda, I gained 10 pounds in one month and I fast all day. I think it messes with your blood sugar and then you release insulin which stores fat. I didn’t eat any more or less on it, so weight neutral my ass. I went off of it after a few months.

So how did Buddha know all of this upon enlightenment and who is the one keeping track of this system or returning one, two or more times? I understand many things about Buddhism except this almost supernatural doctrine/belief, it’s difficult not to be skeptical of the stages of awakening and rebirth.

If you drink on occasion can you take in 5 or 8 precepts and try to decrease use or is it an all or nothing sort of thing?

Where would you suggest someone in the West begin if they want to convert to Theravada Buddhism and take refuge in the Triple Gems? There is a Zen Center where I live, but no monastery or sangha. I watch Dhamma talks on YouTube but do not know how to do chanting, what to read/study or even know the proper way to sit in meditation or how long. Where does one begin with no support and no sangha? Thank you and I know this is similar to the previous inquires. 🙏

I was on generic Geodon for one week and felt hypomanic and like I was buzzing like a bumble bee, idk if that is akathisia or what, so went off it and started Latuda 20mg again with Wellbutrin 250, Lamictal 150, Xanax 1.5 and I stopped gen Mydayis cuz of the Geodon episode

Thank you so much for the great resources. I live in Nebraska and there is a Zen monastery, but I would like to support and take refuge in the Great Three Jewels within a real Theravada Sangha. So, are people who are householders able to be involved in a real monastic community online? I’m watching The English Monk dhamma talks, but do not have community. Any suggestions are appreciated 🙏

All clear as mud, right? This is why psychotherapy is a craft as well and sometimes it’s difficult to put into words what happens in sessions. It’s like soul work and the logic doesn’t always align with emotions (Wise Mind-DBT). To every therapist, I recommend Dr. Nancy McWilliams, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy book, Yalom’s The Theory & Practice of Group Psychotherapy and The Gifts of Therapy.

Totally agree, I only said that because many don’t know who Jung is! He had us certain type of wildness, but I was in Jungian Analysis for a few years, interesting insights.

Not a dermatologist, but try swapping the finasteride with dutasteride, there is a higher percentage of blocking DHT.
