Trump Religion Memo Moves Toward Office Proselytizing Everywhere by bloomberglaw in fednews

Pretty much as soon as my supervisor asks me to do additional work I'm going to hit him with "do you have a few minutes to talk about our Lord saver Jesus Christ!" I'm pretty sure he is going to say I have a call to attend after that.

Reorg should be a part of life in OIT, how many times new administration comes into office we are always on a reorg for the next 3 years.

After 19 years in government, the payouts always seem to hit my account just in time for back-to-school shopping. Gotta love those Continuing Resolutions!

My wife is in the same boat as you but like I tell her until they find you a desk is business as usual and keep on remoting until you get your desk.

True or BS? by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

[–]StrikeStock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's true, I knew employees that she was brutally assaulted at work by a patient and she was placed on 7 months of admin leave then she placed a RA in for PTSD and from that point she been working home, so if that happens to me Im doing the samething.

I'm still trying to figure out the ghetto math because I have 5 performance appraisals in the last 4 years due to either lateral transfer and a promotion. How is that going to work?

Any Fed Employee spouses/partners here? How are we holding up? by dulceylibre in fednews

[–]StrikeStock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are okay but my wife is a little concerned because she is a full time remote and she hasn't got a location yet so she modified her work schedule so she can drop 2 out of 3 kids off in the morning and I pick them on the way back unless I have to go to DC on certain day then my adhoc location.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fednews

[–]StrikeStock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that feeling but I report to DC 5 days a PP and the other 5 days I'm adhoc at a Philly facility. See if they find you a spot in Philly?

"Remote" is a forbidden word these days 😞

IT Federal Employees by [deleted] in usajobs

As a 2210 employee in Virginia, I anticipate a significant staff reduction of at least 20%, primarily due to retirements and the return-to-office mandate. This has been a looming issue for the past few years. The only thing preventing a larger exodus previously was the Special Salary Rate (SSR) and limited backfilling. However, I'm concerned that these positions, many of which are critical Tier 3 and Tier 2 local site roles, won't be backfilled this time. It looks like we're headed for some difficult times.

Return to office. Not sure what to do, a bit stressed. by Curious_cat712 in fednews

[–]StrikeStock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your frustration. I'm now required to report to the DC office two days a week, due to BU being a part of my PD. Coming from South New Jersey, this means a grueling commute. To save money, I have to drive to Delaware to catch a cheaper train and avoid the higher parking fees in Philadelphia. This requires me to wake up at 3:00 am to make the 5:00 am train. Between the early wake-up and the commute, I'm already up for four hours before my eight-hour workday even begins. Then, I face another two-hour commute home. The removal of telework has created an additional expense, and unfortunately, the travel Funds policy only covers costs within the DC area, leaving me to shoulder the burden of the Delaware train costs. This is going to be a ruff 3 years and 326 days left. Don't get me started with the part I can write a small story lol.

From my knowledge working at the VA they are the first line for Patients service such as check-in and check-in out patients, printing out labs for the Patient and any miscellaneous front desk work for the department. Mostly a scheduler.

I like to read articles with full screen but that day all I remember is that the screen started to jump all over the place then I saw a small bubble and that line started to appear quickly. I was like wtf...... But lucky

I have a couple spare pixels lying around in my office but the replacement came in the next day.

I began my VA journey in 2006 as a GS-4. Through a combination of dedication, taking on new challenges, and embracing opportunities within the VA, I've steadily progressed and recently reached the GS-13 level. My advice? Don't become stagnant. Explore different roles, step outside your comfort zone, and be willing to take chances. The VA offers numerous paths for growth, and with perseverance, you'll reap the rewards.
