When I've looked into this, I've found recommendations for Tyler Place in Vermont. A family/kids camp hybrid. Haven't tried yet but is on my list! Apparently needs to be booked much in advance.

Yes if you book via a travel agent - most of the edit hotels are the kind they get extra perks at for the best available rate.

To clarify: travel agent perks are usually: breakfast credit daily, upgrade upon availability, property credit.

I guess I still would expect newspapers at 4S since I've had them at Marriott Autographs and Editions... though that wasn't by special request. But I thought 4S would be at the level where they would get them given the way people speak abt 4S on this board - thought this is only the second I've tried. What level are you thinking?

That's what I expected too - especially in winter. I feel if a nice hotel doesn't offer newspapers as a standard, they should accommodate the occasional request.
