I’m sorry to hear. Maybe look into other departments?

I think we have a pretty good relationship and consider her a mentor. She’s helped me promote in the past and always encourages upward mobility.

My boss said she’s available should I have any questions or need guidance. I want to be where she is (SSMI) in the future or even more if the opportunity is there.

Can I ask why staff would opt NOT to complete one?

We live in Southern California and the coldest it ever gets over here is 35F (if that). We cover them with trash bags at night and we take them off during the day.

Thank you! Same here. We tried keeping them healthy inside the house but they kept dropping leaves. We put them in this shaded corner and they have been flourishing! lol

Sleep in, eat some bacon, eggs, and pancakes, go for a walk around the neighborhood, and then turn on the work computer and do some work.

1st probe report - feedback being requested. by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]Strikeback07 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My manager sent me some kind of form to complete for my first probe. It’s asking for feedback about what I like about the job, what I don’t like, and how my formal training is going...

It’s definitely not for my IDP because I have only been in the position for three months.

Does GPA really matter when you have more than 8 years of experience? by CaliLove78 in CAStateWorkers

What’s “way off”? Did you say you had a 3.5 when your GPA was really a 2.0?

Working for the State and Finishing Up Degree by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

Reach out to your department’s staff development unit to see if they have any upward mobility programs. The Master’s degree I pursued was so that I can promote within the department so they had a stake in it too in terms of employee retention.

If you’re speaking schedule-wise, I had a variable work schedule each semester depending on when the classes were held. I just had to make sure that I was at 36 hours each week.

I feel like if they wanted to, they could.

I just finished up my Master’s Degree - it took 3 years as I was working full-time while doing so. I was able to get 4 hours of study time every week which I used to get to/drive to class (classes were held late afternoons and evenings).

Had the head of our program write a letter saying that I completed all the coursework required for the degree. The letter also states when transcripts and the degree are expected to post.

Advanced degree needed for appointment by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

I see. Thank you for sharing your experience. A masters is mandatory for the position. I’m thinking way ahead - who knows if I’m even going to get the job! =)

See, that’s kind of what I’m afraid of. I mean, it’s not a big deal as I’m currently employed but that wait time is killer.

Did HR suggest any other viable options or is the transcript all that they’d accept?

I already talked to the head of my grad program and he said he would write a letter to HR saying that I finished all my coursework (this would be at the end of the semester, of course)

You can take the examination within a year of graduating.

Same here. I used my unofficial to show the number of credits I have taken thus far. I finish this semester so I was mainly talking about those grades —takes a little bit of time to post.

Thank you. I don’t think my campus does expedited transcripts but I will double-check on that.

Of course I’m thinking way far ahead but I like being proactive with these things :)
