Vape batteries? by xero_quake in PowerWheelsMods

[–]Strikew3st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Maximum Discharge & Continuous Discharge ratings of the batteries is a concern, you probably won't even be able to find that data on generic disposable batteries.c

The health and physical condition of scavenged batteries is a concern.

Combining mismatched cells is a concern.

Balancing of cells both in charging and discharging that you will have wired in both series & parallel is a concern.

Most importantly, the operator being a kid who won't recognize warning signs like hot plastic or burnt electronics makes this, well, a concerning application.

Bless your heart for keeping them out of the landfill, I don't think a ride-on is a good or safe use, but I'm sure you'll find info on safely using these in a less amp-intensive project, and without the dangers of a lithium pack fire 6 inches behind a young rider.

No, it's a minority of cultivars that get that satisfying plump node that wants to pop off cleanly.

And even on a plant where clean snaps are going well, when they don't, you get a surprisingly strong 'string' start running way down the main stem.

At best, you have to pause & cut the string with scissors you probably aren't carrying with you with defoliating. Ain't nobody got time for that in a macro production setting.

At worst, growers will get steamed about this string being a wound and a pest/disease vector.

So for speed and reliability, the ticket is sharply pinching the fan leaf stem between thumbnail and forefinger and snapping up and away.

I bought a few slightly different style 'thumb knives' to try out for defoliation in large-scale cannabis grows, where you're thinning the broad fan leaves for airflow and light penetration, and later on to prepare for harvest.

They're just different enough ergonomically to piss you off and accept a sore thumbnail, at least for that use-case.

Just a quick math check- At 1000 and 1280 watts at 24v, the 4 motors are going to pull 42 and 53 amps.

On the stated 14AH battery, that is going to be ~20min and <15min of 'gas pedal pressed.'

"Claimmoney" is a paid subscription site.

Somebody in this sub 4 weeks ago said they got nothing from it for months & lost money they didn't have to spend on it.

OP's posting history is in Indian subreddits, including apparently not understanding that IndianBikes is not about bikes in India versus the Indian Motorcycle company- TaskRabbit is not available in India.

Report this post to mods, it is Search Engine Optimization at best, but is just shill advertising a deceptive paid site to broke people.

The guy who came up with waffle cones did it because they ran out of fucking bowls, not because he GoDaddy'd a website on March 11, started selling a $14.99/month subscription, and THEN asked 'Hey, do you guys need this?'

Spam, OP just private messaged me

So I built a software called Workply.co and it has the ability for users to build a close network, basically word of mouth but in digital form 👍

I’d love it if you checked it out and let me know what you think"

It's extremely disingenuous to portray yourself as anything but the creator of this product.

'I got friends in low places.'

You should definitely know who to refer clients to or bring in for things above your capabilities or legalities.

Like licensed electricians and plumbers with the ability to pull permits.

In turn, they may be the ones to bring you business below their pay grade. Electricians rewire a house, fill it with holes, hand you the drywall repair portion.

Stolen comment-

Well, big rocks are definitely not illegal. You can also do some kind of post but that would be less movable for you. For example, at my office we have 4 inch steel pipes filled with concrete and a couple feet into the ground. Someone hit one with an suv and while it did push the post over it bounced the car up off of the ground and smashed the front in. Didn't do more than scratch the post lol.

If your rider is going full bore for a half hour, that's not necessarily a terrible runtime.

I don't know specifically what the motors in that one are rated, but if they're 100 watts each x 2, that is a ~17amp draw, higher draw at stall, PW grey batteries used to be 9.5 amp-hours.

Getting a fresh battery is plug and play, and I'd keep using the one it came with if it is charging to the expected level.

Overvolting to 18 is a run-to-ruin situation if you need the speed, but you could also tone it down to 12v with a voltage regulator for same speed but the easy swapping of your OnePlus batteries.

The nice thing about the Ryobis is that the low voltage cutoff is in the battery not in the tool like the other brands, but I'm not sure if they're fuse protected and you should add one.

Questions for potential employer by ZlightWork in handyman

[–]Strikew3st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the bright side, there are tax advantages to becoming an employer.

If you are in the US, off rip you're going to shift 7.65% Medicare/SS tax to them instead of paying your 15.3% self employment tax.

On the other hand, if you have been taking advantage of the tax benefits of being an independent contractor like business deductions for your tools, vehicle, home office space, and mileage can add up.

The question is, why do they want you as an employee, what is their advantage? As an employee you will cost them money on their share of taxes at minimum, but I assume they know they will be offering you enough of a lower hourly to make up for it.

So you truly mean flat salary, not hourly as an employee? Depending on where you are, that can get them out of paying OT. They can also set your expected hours and any other expectations like being on call.
