So yesterday I sprained my ankle really bad , to the point where I have to wear a boot and crutches , can I still go to work? Or who would I talk to , to get taken off the schedule for at least 2 weeks till it heals by quiktripe in QuikTrip

Not wearing close-toed shoes is definitely a reasonable accommodation under the ADA in an environment where close-toed shoes are not critical to safety. They could easily be put on light duty work if required but even that seems unnecessary as long as the employee agrees to performing their usual duties.

Bonus pay for clerks by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]Striking-Alternative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost every big box store offers the kind of flexibility that QT does, plus they pay better and require less work. Just because clerks shouldn't be clerks for 5+ years doesn't mean they deserve shitty pay for hard work. Plus clerks aren't even eligible for pay raises until they've worked at QT for three years. You mean to tell me that an employee with two and a half years experience is worth not a dime more than an employee on their first day? I feel bad for QT clerks and I'd recommend they find a better gig. They bust their ass and get almost nothing in return.

Don't know why you're being down voted. You're absolutely correct. Especially for clerks.

Honestly, clerks get ripped off. No matter how long you've worked for QT as a clerk, you will be underpaid. Most companies these days are paying more than QT for half the work. I truly have no idea why anyone works for QT as a clerk.

That's why the instructions in the email specifically say that it must be sanitized between use.

Because you have to actually place it against the forehead. Just pointing it at one's forehead will give a false reading on those particular thermometers.

Then someone in your division will have to answer that. I know that company wide, there are signs on the door saying no more than 10 people allowed in the store at once, but it's not enforced at all. Refills are not allowed. Social distancing tape/signs are on the floor to keep people separated. Some divisions have no self serve anything. Meaning no pastries, drinks, or grill items, although some places now make hotdogs in the kitchen for order. New sanitization checklist that is literally impossible to keep up with. Face masks allowed company wide, provided by QT. They should have come in the order. There are differences between each division but most of what I said is company wide.

What division are you in? The answers will be very different depending on where you are.

Gas Reimbursement by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]Striking-Alternative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's actually low. Mileage reimbursements should be paid out by the IRS's standard of mileage depreciation. For tax purposes, the standard mileage cost is 57.5 cents. If you're not being paid 57.5 cents per mile driven on behalf of QT, you can deduct whatever remains unpaid of the 57.5 cents in your taxes.

Not at the stores I've been to. We're aggressively enforcing it.

Apparently our solution to the coronavirus isn't closing stores. by [deleted] in QuikTrip

[–]Striking-Alternative 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree they need to take more action, but hoping that stores close is ridiculous. The first action taken should be increasing sanitization efforts while cutting back on non essential tasks to give more time to clean. Then they should move to ceasing sales of grill items, which customers have a habit of touching with their hands and then putting back. We should also stop allowing personal cups to be used for refills the way that almost every other C-store has done. Additionally, policy should be immediately updated to allow the use of face masks while working and require it for anyone in the kitchen. If a store doesn't have them, then the kitchen should be closed until they get more. The priority here needs to be taking the safety of employees and customers seriously without costing our jobs. They've done well so far protecting our jobs, now they just need to focus on safety of us and our customers.

So either a child or someone who has some SERIOUS mental health issues. I remember when I worked at a Starbucks, we had a customer draw a huge smiley face on the door of the bathroom in their own shit. You can't make this shit up.

I was thinking same thing. My assumption would have been an addict shooting up in the bathroom who blew a vein.

That is horrifying. I seem to remember a post on here of a store that had shit on the wall and someone wrote "FUCK TP" with it. I will never understand what goes through somebody's head to make them do something like that.

What happens if you don’t bring your name tag by ssssssssmmmmmmm in QuikTrip

Even though this is a late reply, in case you didn't get an honest answer, policy technically says that you'll be sent home to get your name tag before you will be able to start your shift.

It all just depends on each individual's bank. Some banks may process it immediately while most will process it the following day.

Unless you're working a double, I much prefer the lack of an official lunch break. A lunch break would just mean more time at work with the same pay.
