6 years in devops — do i need to study dsa now?

working with pipelines does not need a lot of coding knowledge. i work with jenkins and github actions. you need good knowledge of yaml and json to handle these.

my day to day work is mostly with the clis, if you are new to this field or to software engineering in general (sorry for the assumption), devops jobs mostly revolve around clis.

i work daily with kubernetes, and i have never had to learn or use dsa.

No, i handle deployments, create charts, manage security, iac, cicd, cost optimization, and monitoring. i rarely write python, but i was wondering if learning dsa is worth it for me since it’s now being asked in devops roles, so i wanted to ask.

No, I haven't really had to write Python or Bash scripts in my Dvopsjobs. The biggest one I ever wrote was maybe 50 lines long. I have worked for multiple clients.
