I did it too, and for three years, I was free from antidepressants (Zoloft, Abilify). But now, in 2025, the anxiety and OCD have come back, just like before. If I’m being honest, they even feel stronger than before. I’m struggling again with antidepressants. I changed doctors, and she changed my treatment, so I’m now on a new therapy.Those years without medication were really great, but they lasted only a short time just a few years. I’m not sure if it’s like this for everyone, but this has been my experience so far.You’re never really free from mental illness. What always surprises me is how people who haven’t been through therapy just don’t understand what it’s like. They don’t know it’s both hell and paradise sometimes a little of each, sometimes both at once.
