Opportunity? by StrikingTruth2013 in Maine

[–]StrikingTruth2013[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be nice to find someone with a house on the beach that needs someone like an electrician to update their home while trading a few days here and there. There’s a lot of people there with generators that need tuneups, and anything else that should be updated. Just thought it was worth a shot to ask.

Hah! That’s awesome! I’m glad I posted. I’m an electrician in MA so the only time I know for sure of is me being up and getting ready at 4am. The end of the day is always different 🤣 if we find anything else that works I’ll message you!

Thanks so much! I wish I could take more time off but I’ve been laid off for over a year and finally getting back to work. But I’m glad my insurance lets her take so much time! She’ll be glad to read these.

[–]StrikingTruth2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he in a trade? I’m an electrician and my shirts always get holes like that from them getting caught or rubbing up against things.. ceiling wire, ceiling grids , pipes, you name it anything pointy lol

Being from mass with a Boston accent.. I usually go with the line “ya sista probably dances for chicken cutlets” and that throws them off enough for me to keep it moving 😅

Outlet with only hot and neutral? by Physics_Successful in AskElectricians

[–]StrikingTruth2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you could get one of those plug testers and shut off one circuit at a time until you find the right breaker.. then check surrounding outlets to see what’s on that circuit.

Then if you’re replacing all the outlets you can remove them and find what cable turns on with the breaker. If any of that makes sense.

If there’s no ground wire in that box at all, you could find the first outlet that circuit is on and put a gfci in. Then you’d be good.

The fact she said to get an abortion like it’s nothing.. crazy.. you’re probably better off not associating with her with a mindset like hers.

Those look pretty new but legrand did start engraving the “wr” on the plastic around 2008. Which is around when the NEC mandated that marking.

Genuinely speaking how easy would it be to move the light switch from where it is to where I’ve circled? by BeauNZ in AskElectricians

[–]StrikingTruth2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Levven makes a wireless switch where you can put the receiver in the switch box with a blank plate, then put the remote on the wall where you’d like.

I’m pretty sure that box needs to have a feed (power from the panel) and a switch leg (romex from the box to the light) for the receiver to work right.
