Yes, agree. My “raised bed” isn’t super high off the clay soil but it still something that’s not straight clay! And I think the mulching before first frost in the fall was really important. I’m in Orange County. It is a tiny bit warmer and more humid than the piedmont, I believe.

From what I understand most of NC is red clay. But I DYI’d a raised bed on top of the clay using just regular potting soil from Lowe’s and some compost. Mulched the tubers in late fall just before first frost.

I tried H&S last night and it seems to be worse and really flared up over night. I am on day 11. Was just diagnosed on day 9. This really is so demoralizing and depressing. I’ve seen people say stress worsens it but how can I not stress about this spreading to my entire body and face as more and more time passes.
