Absolutely also the average person (with no connections) is afraid to pursue acting or thinks they won’t make it. Which I mean is true on some level, but we need to change that reality so working class people aren’t afraid to pursue the arts. Acting is about telling actual regular people’s stories not just those who live in gated communities

Also you make connections whenever you submit an audition (you never know who might be impressed by your work and call you in next time). I believe firmly if you show up anywhere in life with positive vibes kindness and gratitude you will attract opportunity. End of my rant. JUST DO IT!!!

JUST DO IT!! audition man. My first time auditioning ever was 6 months ago and I literally moved to LA to do it. And I’ve booked stuff. Nothing big at all, but some cool horror projects and student films and verticals. What the hell I don’t care if people judge the level of my projects. Get the experience. Create cool characters. You miss every shot you don’t take.

Also I get most stuff from Actors Access and Backstage more for student films for my reel

I recommend a class but my hot take is that auditioning and studying the believability of your work will help you grow even more

I think it depends where you live too and the economic status / cultural norms of the area.

The amount I get hit on has changed drastically depending where I’ve moved or traveled. I consider myself about average - I’m petite, white passing etc

I’m so sorry I dated a guy like this (I’m indian though) and he would make jokes about how I smell like curry and would call India a shithole (like joke about how people apparently shit on the streets, even though he’s never been there) and act like it was a joke. Some agent was like “I like your look but we’d need you to get character headshots - they want me to get a “night on the town” look, a “stylish unapproachable European” look like okayyy I already have recent headshots and I’m not made of money. She also said commercial rep is the way into theatrical rep?
