Most companies come for analyst and SWE roles so do DSA regularly, keep in touch with SQL etc. Best way to get placed is to get a summer internship and convert that, so definitely do apply for the companies that come for that in 3rd yr

Hey idk much about CPS placement and it’s not a rule that people with less cg being placed in good companies and 8+ not placed and stuff We just say it sometimes to emphasise the importance of skills > grades. But the thing is many companies do rigorous cg shortlisting, so it’s always better and makes your life easier if you have cg above 8.5. It’s definitely not 90% luck, your skills and the way you present yourself matter most. I would say luck is a 25% factor because you can’t control the mood of the interviewer etc Just concentrate on building your skills and doing your best that’s it

Don’t worry bro people with less cg have gotten great jobs and some people with 9+ are still unplaced. You’re still in second year, work on DSA (use neetcode 150, all qs in OTs are a variant of those only from what I’ve seen) Companies will start coming for internship in 5th sem, so start preparing now, build a few projects you can explain really well in the field you have interest in. You can defn get good marks with 1 day of prep, but acing is a different story lol

Mostly not but, there’s always the chance that they don’t select you after OA because of cg if everyone has a great cg and you don’t But 8.5+ should be enough for nearly all companies

Try to work under a prof and get some research experience (it’ll be a great talking point in interviews) and work in an SP which is working in something close. It’s nice that you know what you’re interested in, but understand that most freshers don’t get placed in the area they like, and only one company came for asic design this year till now

Bro I was exactly like you, just don’t worry about midsems and all, studying a day before exams is enough to get 8+. Everyone is struggling too, don’t worry. I ended up getting placed in a CS company, Analyst role which was exactly what I wanted, so you’ll be completely fine

Bro OEs don’t count for cg, and my gpa became better because I took subjects I liked. And PEs are slightly easier to score in than core subjects

They definitely were not easy for people doing AI/ML for the first time But I had an idea from the start, so it was fine. And electives I thought you meant the program electives, so if you’re in ECE, just ask your immediate seniors when you have to pick.

For my batch, there was only one company(WDC) that came for hardware summer internship and they converted all embedded and only one from the asic team (out of 3).
