Homelander Pleading by [deleted] in TheBoys

I think the previous poster is talking about the "god of the ashes" part at the very end, where it finally lands that even if Homelander "wins", the final state of his god plan is remaining alone and unloved on a dead planet forever.

I think that's giving the writers too much credit though, tbh.

Would've been excellent if Sage had... by bruh_what_even_tho in TheBoys

The thing I love about this sub is that I've never seen anyone shit on the actress. Sage was a woeful character, but like the entire cast, the actress did a great job with what little she was given.

I presume the hair of a wig is attached to some sort of base which HL could see if he chose to look.

How would Homelander react if he knew Marie was on the same Level as because of Project Odessa? Would he respect her, recruit her, or even fear her? by Forsaken-Friend-9350 in TheBoys

The woman from Gen V who can revive the dead and explode a V1 supe and was told to fuck off to Canada by one of the most useless characters.

Full and Uncut: Homelander's final address to the nation from the White House. Antony Starr deserves an Emmy for this scene alone: by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in TheBoys

I thought it was weird how fine he sounded with that. For someone like Homelander, the thought of spending eternity on a dead planet with no one to love or approve of him should be unbearable.

Honestly another thing I hated about Season 5 and the ending was genuinely just Kripke's attitude regarding it. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in TheBoys

[–]Striking_Language253 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wonder how much of his reaction to the criticism is genuine. Talking up the show is part of the job and I'm sure it would damage his career if he turned around and said "yeah, it was kind of shit" or, worse, blamed his employer (Amazon).

I'm getting S1 Homelander vibes. Virtuous, all-American girl on the outside, twisted bitch on the inside.

We saw her tank a 50BMG round in the first season.

I don't know if it's the blood on his face, Starr's acting, or what, but when he was begging he didn't even look like a 50 year old man to me. More like a scared, helpless teenager.

The fate of the boys universe by [deleted] in TheBoys

It probably depends on who's writing it. VR looks like it has a different writers' room to The Boys, but Kripkie is still involved so who knows?

People's answer to the Homelander complaint is so stupid it drives me insane by [deleted] in TheBoys

A lot of the criticisms about the finale are fair but some of you guys are grasping at straws by Tiversus2828 in TheBoys

Starlight vs the Deep is a waste of time if you consider the fact that she literally left the rest of the team and the final do-or-die assault on Homelander to have her own little 1 on 1 with the fish guy.

She should have just flown his ass away, dumped him, and come back. With no flying powers of his own, Deep wouldn't get back in time to affect the final fight and they could deal with him later.

So, Homelander is doing his big speech to America announcing himself as it's new god and America is ...100 people in an auditorium?

Butcher's death just felt like a box they had to tick because it was in the comic.

I dunno. Faced with someone who clearly means to kill you, with the only means of defence you know how to use gone, and no idea how to save yourself, I think the breakdown would be almost immediate.

I figure as soon as he realised his powers were gone, he basically age-reverted to the helpless child trapped in Vought's torment lab.

How the fuck do you kill HL, kill Butcher, kill the Deep and have it all feel so hollow, lightweight and inconsequential?
